Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Operational Excellence & Governance Team Lead to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the hCPT Team by driving governance, operational excellence, continuous process improvement, and innovation across multiple functional teams. This role serves as the operational leader responsible for establishing and maintaining standardized processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, championing automation and AI initiatives, and leading strategic projects that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

The Team Lead will drive improvements across a diverse portfolio of teams including Cloud FinOps, Procurement, Software Asset Management (SAM), and the PMO. This individual will work closely with team leads to develop scalable operational strategies, optimize business processes, implement governance frameworks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an innovative leader who excels at driving organizational change, leveraging technology to improve operations, and developing high-performing teams.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Manages and is responsible for the successful execution of operational initiatives across assigned functional areas, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Provides process oversight for the Procurement team, Software Asset Management (SAM), and Procurement PMO teams, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services
  • Develops, implements, and maintains governance frameworks, operational standards, policies, and best practices across the Procurement organization
  • Leads continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve operational performance
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements automation opportunities that enhance productivity, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality
  • Serves as the organization's AI Champion by identifying emerging AI capabilities, evaluating use cases, driving adoption of AI-enabled solutions, and promoting responsible AI practices
  • Oversees internal operational audits, process reviews, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to corporate policies, contractual requirements, and industry best practices
  • Develops and monitors operational metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting to measure organizational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Leads cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by senior leadership
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to identify operational challenges and implement scalable, sustainable solutions
  • Directs program and operational activities to meet organizational objectives while serving as a liaison between leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Drives organizational change management efforts to support the successful implementation of new technologies, processes, and operating models
  • Promotes a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BA/BS degree
  • Required Experience: 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Business Operations, Operational Excellence, or related leadership roles
  • Required Technical Skills: PMP certification; AWS Cloud Practitioner; Experience with agile; Experience implementing automation solutions and driving technology-enabled operational improvements; Experience with Procurement, Software Asset Management (SAM), Cloud FinOps, Licensing, or PMO organizations; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable operational improvements; Experience developing operational dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting
  • Attributes for Success: Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment; Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership; Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and execution
  • Preferred Skills: 8+ years experience; Lean Six Sigma; Certified Scrum Master; Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and lead organizational change
  • Location: 100% Remote working
  • Security Clearance Level: Requires a Public Trust - Applicants shall have lived in the United States at least 3 out of the last 5 years prior to going through the public trust background investigation and submitting an application for a Federal ID Card. Work visa sponsorship will not be considered for this role.

The likely salary range for this position is $151,300 - $204,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
