Job Title:    Director, Human Resources Business Partner
Department:    Human Resources
FLSA Status:     Exempt

Position Overview: 
The Director, HR Business Partner provides leadership and support to Insulet’s Manufacturing and Operations, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Sustainability and G&A in the development and execution of human resource strategies that support the organization’s needs and the achievement of business objectives. This role is highly skilled, credible, and serves as the subject matter expert on all Human Resource related issues.  This is a hands-on position working with senior level managers and manages HRBP’s who support employees working on the manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities: 
•    Be a strategic business partner and work closely with the Manufacturing and Operations teams at the manufacturing facility. 
•    Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to identify and set short and long-term HR-based KPIs (human capital and talent management) on business plans and local business goals. Maintain focus on priorities across key areas such as:  efficient and effective organization structure, talent acquisition support, performance management, training and development, talent management and succession planning, engagement, recognition and rewards, and retention initiatives.
•    Develop people-oriented programs to positively impact change and employee engagement; understand and solicit employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns.
•    Assess training needs, align with business needs and partner with business, cross-functional and HR colleagues to develop and implement virtual and in person training to foster staff development and maximize employee engagement.
•    Promote HR process standardization and process improvement based on feedback from functional leaders, managers, and employees.
•    Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop strategic recruitment plans to ensure effective sourcing, screening, selection, hiring, and retention of high quality talent.
•    Provide proactive performance management guidance and support to managers with coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary/performance improvement actions. 
•    Manage and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and responsive manner and escalate issues as appropriate.  Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. 
•    Manage information of a sensitive nature and always maintain discretion and confidentiality.
•    Support and/or lead other projects, programs, or duties as required.

Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of work experience in a HR capacity.
•    Experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
•    Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including recruitment, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, and respective federal and state employment laws.  
 

Preferred Skills/Competencies:
•    Multi-region manufacturing HRBP support preferred.
•    Multi-shift manufacturing experience desirable.
•    Proven ability to partner with and influence manufacturing leadership.
•    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).  Demonstrated experience developing consultative partnerships with internal customers and colleagues.
•    A creative thinker with alternative solutions and the ability to recommend best-fit solutions in alignment with business goals.
•    Highly process-oriented with regards to workflow.
•    Results oriented, resourceful self-starter with demonstrated time management and execution skills.
•    Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail, systems and processes.
•    Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•    Strong conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
•    Embraces challenges and change; flexible, adaptable and reliable.
•    Highly customer service focused and team-oriented.
•    Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
