Job description

SitelogIQ is seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations for the South Business Unit to lead all project delivery and operational execution for the State of Texas.  As SitelogIQ continues its growth trajectory, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced construction executive who embodies a customer-centric approach and has a proven track record of leading high-performing project management teams while delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Senior Vice President of Operations will oversee the execution of projects across key vertical markets including municipalities, K-12 schools, higher education, state and local government, industrial, and commercial sectors. This role is responsible for developing operational strategy, building organizational capability, managing project execution, and driving continuous improvement across all phases of project delivery.

This position requires an accomplished leader with extensive experience managing large construction organizations, mentoring project management professionals, and ensuring operational excellence while supporting the company's long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Business Unit President, the Senior Vice President of Operations will lead, coach, and develop the Operations organization while ensuring successful execution of all projects and achievement of financial and operational objectives.

Operational Leadership

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company objectives, financial goals, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Lead the execution of all construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Build scalable operational processes and organizational structure to support continued business growth.
  • Foster a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Project Management Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators, QA/QC personnel, and other operational staff.
  • Establish performance expectations, coaching plans, career development initiatives, and succession planning for the Operations organization.
  • Promote consistency in project management methodologies, documentation, reporting, and project controls across all projects.
  • Ensure project teams have the necessary resources, training, and support to execute successfully.

Project Delivery & Client Relations

  • Provide executive oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Partner with Business Development during project development, proposal strategy, pricing reviews, risk assessments, and project handoff.
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with clients throughout project execution to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for major or strategic projects requiring senior leadership involvement.

Operational & Financial Performance

  • Maximize project profitability, cash flow, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction across the Business Unit.
  • Oversee project forecasting, labor planning, resource allocation, and operational budgeting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including safety, quality, schedule adherence, gross margin, change orders, backlog, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate project reporting, forecasting, financial controls, and risk management practices.
  • Lead project reviews and implement corrective actions when operational performance deviates from expectations.

Safety, Quality & Risk Management

  • Champion a culture of safety throughout the organization and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs to ensure projects meet contractual requirements and company standards.
  • Identify operational risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, building codes, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Support strategic planning, staffing forecasts, operational budgeting, and capital planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, customer experience, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on emerging construction technologies, delivery methods, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction or infrastructure project delivery.
  • Minimum of 7 years leading project management teams or construction operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex construction portfolios and operational organizations.
  • Experience overseeing projects involving HVAC systems, mechanical upgrades, lighting, roofing, building controls, building envelope improvements, and energy infrastructure preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, safety regulations, and quality management systems.

Certifications

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Standard weekly work hours are expected.
  • Travel throughout the State of Texas is required, including regular site visits and occasional overnight travel.
  • Weekend work may occasionally be required to support project milestones or client needs.
