Job description

Responsibilities:

Job Summary: Provide remote technical support to store leaders and field technicians by monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) that control HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting across 380+ stores.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

 

  • Manages control system mechanical alarms; fixes problem remotely or facilitates fix through Facility Management; follows up on all service calls to ensure proper resolution
  • Diagnoses / coordinates repair process for mechanical systems; coordinates with Facility Manager (or appropriate process owners) as needed
  • Reviews use of systems to ensure stores / other facilities are managing temperature alarms; works with on-site vendors, Partners, and Facility Alliance (FA) to ensure proper use of remote systems
  • Identifies / resolves mechanical issues during periodic retro-commissioning; works with Facility Management team to analyze / resolve chronic issues
  • Trains FA Partners on EMS / other remote monitoring system use and SOPs

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

  • Intermediate support individual contributor position performing administrative or specialized tasks in support of daily business activities.
  • Works under moderate supervision on mostly routine tasks but may deviate from or interpret standard procedures based on knowledge gained through learned experience.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • HVAC / R installation or maintenance experience (preferred); comparable experience will be fully considered. Experience installing and programming supermarket control systems (preferred)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge related to mechanical systems and controls
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word), network structure, and web navigation
  • Intermediate verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organization, time-management, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks; attention to detail


Education:

  • High School or GED required
  • Completion of a technical training program in HVAC, refrigeration, building automation, controls, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred


Licenses/Certifications:

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification (preferred)
  • Texas ACR Technician License (preferred)

  • Function in a fast-paced, office environment
  • Work extended hours and/or rotating schedules
