About the role

The Engineer will play an integral role in maturing the next generation of Identity solutions for Franklin Templeton. This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of Franklin Templeton's current Identity Access Management tools; SailPoint's Identity IQ (IIQ) and Okta, with a focus in IdentityNow Saas. As a member of the Identity and Access team, the Engineer will be heavily focused on Sailpoint IIQ/ Saas development, infrastructure maintenance and operations, vulnerability management and production support. The ideal self-driven candidate will possess strong communication, leadership and versatile technical skills, be a team player with a drive for success.

How you will add value

  • The Engineer role within the Access Control Tools team will have expertise in Enterprise level "Identity and Access Management" (IAM) business workflow maturity.
  • Responsible to develop new workflows, have knowledge of SDLC, perform unit testing and coordinate the UAT as required.
  • Provide technical support of Incident, troubleshooting activities related to IAM solutions. This role anticipates business and/or regulatory issues; recommends solutions, process, or service improvements; solves unique and complex problems.
  • The candidate will provide analysis, presentation, acquisition, installation, configuration, implementation, and modification of IIQ for business and IT projects and requests.
  • This role provides escalated, Tier 3 support, applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • This role frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods and works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth review of multiple factors and exercises independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
  • The Engineer leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives, provide mentoring and guidance to junior employees, acts as an expert providing direction and guidance for process improvements and establishing policies, and may be called upon to represent the organization for customers/clients of Franklin Templeton Technologies.
  • Collaborates with other engineers, operations, applications development, business customers and vendors to design and implement solutions.
  • Develop, evaluate and manage various components in Identity IQ and Identity Now.
  • Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in cloud identity services, AWS and Azure.
  • Analyzes existing solutions, makes recommendations, and leads improvement of Identity Access solutions.
  • Responsible for creating technical documentation for identity solutions. Presents solutions to senior leaders for concurrence and approval.
  • Engages with vendors for incident and problem management for resolution and root cause determination.
  • Mentors or provides guidance to develop talent in more junior staff members.
  • Ability to be on-call once per month.

  • Experienced designing, developing, testing and deploying complex solutions to support distributed, scalable and highly available applications.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with local and remote individuals or teams across multiple time zones.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform and present analysis and recommendations to senior technical staff and senior leaders for effective decision-making.

  • Programming/scripting experience.

Technical Skills

  • Bean shell scripting, connector building, writing customization rules, correlation logic, Report Scripting, Audit reports in SailPoint Identity IQ.

  • Strong in Java, JavaScript.

  • Knowledge of LDAP, SQL Server, SQL scripting for executing DB queries.

  • Development of Identity IQ Connectors (all Types).

  • Knowledge of, or experience with Service Now API integrations.

  • Knowledge of Entitlements, Groups Configuration within Identity IQ product.

  • Knowledge of or experience Linux environment preferred.

  • Experience in Troubleshooting Production Issues and working with Service Now ticketing systems.

Education (or equivalent experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

  • 5-7 years of overall development experience in Java, Java script.

  • 3-4 experience in SailPoint Identity IQ.

Education, Experience & Training Preferred

  • CRISC - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control preferred.

  • Sailpoint Developer Certified a plus.

Work Schedule & Location

  • Hybrid - 3 days per week in the Pasadena office.
