Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a modern Australian accounting and business advisory firm supporting small and medium-sized businesses with proactive accounting, taxation, and advisory services. Leveraging cloud-based technology and a client-focused approach, the firm helps businesses improve cash flow, maintain compliance, and make informed financial decisions for long-term growth.

Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting administrative assistant to support the successful and smooth day-to-day operations of a boutique, technology-first accounting firm in Australia. As an accounting administrative assistant, you will be a proactive self- starter able to use your own initiative to provide essential ad hoc and routine accounting administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General internal administration and data entry
  • Proficiently utilising systems including Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Ignition, Nowinfinity, Microsoft Office, One Drive, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Administration of Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) corporate compliance using NowInfinity
  • Forwarding ASIC company statements and other communications in Nowinfinity to clients as required
  • Creating Client Engagement Proposals using Ignition
  • Maintaining client database - adding/removing clients, updating client information
  • Managing task allocation and workflow spreadsheet, tracking and assigning items to other team members
  • Creation of business structure diagrams using Lucid Charts
  • Monitoring documents and communications from the Australian Tax Office (ATO), utilising ATO Mate for client communications
  • Personal assistant support - email and calendar management for senior partners
  • Drafting client agreements and other routine documentation, utilising templates provided

Use of Systems Including:

  • Xero and Xero Practice Manager (essential)
  • Ignition (essential)
  • NowInfinity (essential)
  • Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Teams (essential)
  • easyAML
  • Lucid Charts
  • FYI Docs
  • ATO Mate
  • Practice Protect

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 - 4 years of experience in accounting administration for an Australian firm
  • Strong written & spoken English communication
  • Telephone communication skills are imperative
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining and inputting data accurately
  • A good understanding of Australian accounting and tax documents and process
  • Australian business experience, including accounting experience
  • Accounting degree (Preferable)

Measures of Success:

  • High level of initiative - takes ownership of all tasks and jobs assigned.
  • Able to work autonomously to complete and monitor assigned tasks
  • Proactively identifies and requests missing or incomplete information
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail when inputting data
  • Responds to and assist with requests for information
  • Records time logs in XPM and completes time tracking against tasks as required

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
