Job description

About the Role: Joining Settle as a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and constructing impactful, results-driven systems, products, and features. With a solid product-market fit, organic growth, and a comprehensive long-term roadmap, you'll be part of a dynamic team driving Settle's success. 
 
What You'll Do:
  • Work with Product, Design and Stakeholders developing new features for our product.
  • Design and build data models, services, and APIs.
  • Maintain existing finance infrastructure (Loan Tape, Ledger) and enhance it with new features.
  • Scale and secure our systems to support an increasing number of users, features, business requirements, partners, and engineers.
  • Analyze, debug, and fix performance and correctness issues.

What You'll Need:
  • 2.5+ years of industry experience (previous experience in the fintech and/or startup sector is nice-to-have).
  • Technical requirements: Proficiency in CS fundamentals, professional experience with Ruby on Rails, mastery of OOP principles.
  • Adaptability. We're a startup and project needs can change quickly. You love to jump into a new problem, learn what's needed, and solve it.
  • Customer-centric mentality. You care about the user, strive to understand their needs and build tools to solve their problems.
  • Ability to communicate regularly. Upper-intermediate level of written and spoken English for day-to-day interaction.

Compensation: This role has an annual starting salary range of $60,000 - $85,000 USD + equity + benefits. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to your individual skills and experience.
