About Total Benefit Solutions:

Total Benefit Solutions, an international wholesale employee benefits brokerage, full-service HR solutions provider, and third-party administrator, is currently seeking an Employee Benefits Wholesale Sales Representative. A team of service-oriented and self-motivated individuals, we are focused on providing innovative insurance solutions to our clients, backed by an unparalleled level of support. Voted one of Washington’s Best Companies to Work For nine consecutive years, that recognition is rooted in our Core Values, our entrepreneurial culture, and our belief that talented people do their best work when they are trusted, supported, and given room to grow.

About the Position:

We're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Sales Representative to grow our employee benefits wholesale business throughout the Pacific Northwest. You'll sell through insurance brokers, not directly to employers, developing and managing broker relationships and helping insurance professionals bring better benefit solutions to their clients across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and the broader PNW market.

This is a high-opportunity role for a self-starter who's highly motivated, comfortable working independently, and excited to build a meaningful territory. You'll have the autonomy to pioneer new business within established markets, lead strategic growth initiatives, and have a direct hand in shaping the next phase of our growth, backed by strong internal support and a growing portfolio of benefit solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow relationships with insurance brokers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
  • Promote employee benefits products, programs, and wholesale solutions to broker partners.
  • Identify new broker opportunities and build a consistent pipeline of prospects.
  • Help expand new business opportunities within existing markets.
  • Take ownership of selected growth initiatives designed to increase broker engagement and market presence.
  • Educate brokers on available solutions, market opportunities, and how our team can support their clients.
  • Work closely with internal sales, underwriting, account management, and leadership teams to deliver a strong broker experience.
  • Represent the company professionally at broker meetings, industry events, association events, and networking opportunities.
  • Track sales activity, opportunities, follow-up items, and pipeline progress.
  • Bring energy, creativity, and ownership to the role every day.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of work experience specializing in employee benefits, insurance, broker sales, wholesale sales, or a related business development role is preferred.
  • Must have a Life & Health insurance license in their state of residence.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of carrier products and networks in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Have previously established relationships with the Pacific Northwest broker community.
  • Excellent listening and communications skills to effectively identify client’s needs, provide guidance, and close sales.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks to completion.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work and collaborate with individuals or group at all organizational levels; ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Professional, responsive, and consistent with follow-through.
  • Curious and willing to learn the employee benefits marketplace.
  • Relationship-driven and comfortable building trust with brokers and business partners.
  • Competitive, optimistic, and motivated by growth.
  • Comfortable with autonomy and excited by a large open territory.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, any field; equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
