About the Role

New Heights Insurance Solutions, a specialty crane, rigging, and specialized transportation (CRST) insurance division, is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team. This is a fully remote position, offering a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their insurance career while working alongside AI-enabled tools and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist underwriters with submission set-up and processing

  • Respond to coverage inquiries

  • Review and process endorsements

  • Support rating functions

  • Complete general administrative tasks as requested

  • Assist with audits

  • Prepare and review premium finance agreements

  • Review key underwriting documents, including submissions, loss runs, MVRs, CAB reports, and DOT reports

  • Perform state and federal filing requests

  • Calculate surplus lines taxes and fees

  • Follow up on outstanding submissions, quotes, documents, and payments

  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to additional job functions as required by the management team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required

  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Willingness to learn and work with AI-powered tools

  • Experience with AIM and ImageRight management systems a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Friendly, professional demeanor

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and stay productive in a remote setting

Salary:

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
