We’re looking for a strong Senior Full-Stack Engineer who is ready to take ownership of our internal and external platforms and evolve into a broader Product and Platform Owner role.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and can drive projects from concept to production without relying on perfectly defined requirements. You’ll be responsible for turning business ideas and AI-assisted prototypes into reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable platforms.
The role combines hands-on full-stack engineering with product ownership, architecture, DevOps, stakeholder management, and continuous product improvement. You’ll work across frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure, integrations, deployments, and production support while keeping stakeholders informed through clear and proactive communication.
We expect this person to use AI aggressively to accelerate development and eliminate repetitive manual coding wherever possible. Business owners and leads will increasingly use tools such as Claude to refine ideas and create working prototypes and handoff documentation before development begins. Your responsibility will be to transform those prototypes into production-ready platforms with the appropriate architecture, integrations, scalability, security, backups, monitoring, and long-term maintenance.
A React web application supporting fleet management operations.
Node.js backend services and APIs.
MySQL databases, including schema design, migrations, and performance optimization.
DevOps and hosting infrastructure across AWS and Heroku.
New internal and external web applications and infrastructure as the business roadmap evolves.
Internal platforms designed to improve operational workflows and reduce reliance on generic SaaS and ERP solutions.
Integrations across systems such as Slack, Stripe, HubSpot, Odoo, databases, spreadsheets, and third-party APIs.
Take end-to-end ownership of internal and external platforms, from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
Transform business requirements, AI-generated prototypes, and early-stage concepts into production-ready applications.
Work proactively with business owners, users, and stakeholders to understand workflows, identify pain points, gather feedback, and validate product adoption.
Continuously improve products based on user feedback, business needs, and operational data.
Drive projects forward even when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous.
Establish priorities, define next steps, identify risks early, and maintain visibility into ongoing work.
Develop and maintain production applications using React, Node.js, and MySQL.
Stabilize and modernize existing platforms by addressing outdated dependencies, runtime versions, technical debt, and recurring bugs.
Own the full software lifecycle, including frontend, backend, database, infrastructure, deployments, and production support.
Build new internal and external applications quickly while establishing scalable foundations for future growth.
Improve application reliability, maintainability, security, and performance over time.
Diagnose and resolve staging and production issues quickly and effectively.
Use AI development tools such as Claude to accelerate software development and reduce repetitive manual coding.
Leverage AI for prototyping, code generation, documentation, analysis, and development workflows while maintaining appropriate engineering standards.
Review and improve AI-generated prototypes and code to ensure production readiness, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Establish efficient workflows that enable the organization to move from business ideas to working prototypes and production platforms faster.
Manage deployments and infrastructure across AWS and Heroku.
Improve CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable staging-to-production release processes.
Develop effective rollback and recovery strategies.
Manage environment configuration, application access, credentials, and deployment processes.
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability improvements.
Establish appropriate backup and disaster recovery practices.
Explore infrastructure-as-code and automation opportunities where appropriate.
Develop a strong understanding of where company data is stored across systems, including Slack, Stripe, HubSpot, MySQL databases, spreadsheets, Odoo, and other business platforms.
Build scalable integrations between internal systems and third-party services.
Identify opportunities to consolidate or automate workflows through custom integrations and applications.
Design data flows and integrations that support long-term scalability and maintainability.
Document system architecture, technical decisions, development setup, deployment processes, integrations, and access requirements.
Reduce single points of failure by ensuring critical technical knowledge is documented and shared.
Maintain clear documentation that enables other engineers and stakeholders to understand and support the platforms.
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to transfer knowledge and ensure continuity of system ownership.
Provide proactive and consistent updates to business owners, leadership, and other stakeholders.
Clearly communicate timelines, progress, blockers, risks, and dependencies.
Translate technical concepts and trade-offs into language that business stakeholders can easily understand.
Act as a bridge between business needs and technical execution.
Keep projects moving forward without waiting for perfectly defined requirements.
The initial focus of this role will include:
Taking ownership of the Customer Success Dashboard.
Continuing improvements and modernization of the Fleet Management Dashboard.
Supporting the development of the upcoming Manufacturing Portal.
Taking ownership of the Customer Portal once the initial prototype and handoff documentation are ready.
Establishing scalable architecture and development practices that can support future internal platforms.
5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
Strong production experience with React and Node.js.
Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on experience with MySQL or similar relational databases.
Experience with database schema design, migrations, indexes, and query performance.
Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Heroku, including deployments, environment configuration, logs, monitoring, and basic scaling.
Proven experience owning and delivering features or products end-to-end, from requirements through production release.
Strong understanding of software architecture, integrations, security, scalability, backups, and maintainability.
High level of autonomy and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments.
Experience inheriting and improving systems with limited documentation or technical debt.
Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to proactively communicate progress, identify risks, and keep stakeholders informed.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively to accelerate software development and problem-solving.
Experience modernizing legacy applications and upgrading outdated dependencies or runtimes.
Experience with observability tools, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
Infrastructure-as-code experience with tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
Strong DevOps and automation instincts.
Experience building internal tools, administrative dashboards, or operational platforms.
Experience integrating systems such as Stripe, HubSpot, Slack, Odoo, or similar business applications.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.
Experience gathering requirements directly from end users and business stakeholders.
Experience working in product ownership or technical product management environments.
Environment access is stabilized, critical technical knowledge is documented, and onboarding is fully unblocked.
The architecture and current state of key platforms are clearly understood and documented.
Core application upgrades and stability improvements have been safely deployed.
Bug volume related to outdated dependencies and technical debt is reduced.
A reliable release cadence and staging-to-production deployment process are established.
CI/CD, monitoring, logging, backups, and rollback processes are improved.
The first new internal or external application components are delivered with a scalable technical foundation.
Stakeholders receive consistent, proactive updates and have clear visibility into project progress.
User feedback is incorporated into product decisions and platform improvements.
AI-assisted development workflows are being used effectively to increase delivery speed.
The engineer has established themselves as the technical owner and trusted partner for key internal platforms.
This role has the opportunity to evolve beyond traditional full-stack development into a broader Product and Platform Ownership position.
The long-term vision is to build a portfolio of custom internal platforms that are specifically designed around the company’s workflows and operational needs, reducing dependence on generic SaaS and ERP solutions where custom technology can provide greater efficiency, flexibility, and scalability.

They will understand why something needs to be built, identify opportunities for improvement, work directly with users and stakeholders, leverage AI to accelerate execution, and take ownership of the platform throughout its entire lifecycle.
