About the Role
As a Senior Backend Java Developer, you will anchor the technical foundation of critical e-commerce systems, designing scalable, secure, and efficient server-side applications and APIs. You will work on a well-architected platform powering nationwide logistics, real-time inventory synchronization, and complex order routing using modern Java frameworks and microservices architecture.
This role is critical to driving business strategy through technical execution, bridging the gap between high-level business goals and scalable system design. Working directly with internal and external stakeholders, you will bring a consultant mindset to troubleshoot production issues, leverage AI-first workflows, and shape product solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems, APIs (RESTful, SOAP, GraphQL), and relational database structures using Java and MySQL.
- Optimize backend performance and queries to handle high traffic, large datasets, and real-time inventory synchronization efficiently.
- Lead integration efforts with payment gateways, shipping providers, messaging platforms, and third-party APIs.
- Collaborate directly with stakeholders, product managers, and the CTO to align technical functionality with overarching business strategies.
- Own system stability by rapidly troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving production issues through adaptable task switching.
- Mentor team members through constructive code reviews, ensuring high code quality, security best practices, and clean architecture.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in backend software development with strong expertise in core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Tech Stack: Spring Framework, ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate), relational databases (MySQL), Git, and API integrations (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
- Client-Facing Experience: Comfortable regularly communicating, brainstorming, and troubleshooting directly with non-technical and technical stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Ego-free, highly collaborative, adaptive to fast-paced environments, and possesses a strong ownership mindset with business acumen.
- Language Proficiency: Mandatory Advanced English (written and verbal) for continuous communication with international stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience or exposure to SAP Commerce / Hybris architecture and customizations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms and microservices deployment.
- Familiarity with high-volume data pipelines, event-driven sagas, or AI-first development workflows.
- Exposure to frontend basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery).
