Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Patient Advocacy Manager to join our team and help us build strong, lasting relationships with the patient and healthcare community in Germany.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs Germany, this role will be instrumental in shaping and executing BeOne's patient advocacy strategy in Germany, building long-term partnerships with patient organizations and ensuring the patient voice is embedded in the company's corporate affairs, government affairs/public policy, access, and communications activities.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in patient advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and partnership management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector, and is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a growing organization.

Job based in Germany (location flexible / Munich or Berlin preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the patient advocacy strategy for Germany, aligned with corporate and brand strategies within agreed-upon budgets and timelines

  • Identify, build, and manage long-term partnerships with patient organizations relevant to BeOne's disease areas of focus

  • Amplify the patient voice internally and externally, ensuring it is embedded in corporate affairs, government affairs/public policy, market access, and communications activities

  • Co-create surround-sound campaigns with patient organizations to amplify disease awareness and accelerate access across media and digital platforms

  • Support product and pipeline-related patient engagement in close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Government Affairs/Public Policy colleagues, ensuring patient insights are appropriately incorporated throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Champion and stimulate colleague engagement in disease-area charitable activities and community events

  • Ensure all patient advocacy activities comply with applicable codes of conduct, transparency requirements, and BeOne policies

  • Analyze and assess the effectiveness of patient advocacy activities using appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in patient advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or public affairs within the healthcare sector. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is highly desirable

  • Proven track record in building and managing partnerships with patient organizations at national level

  • Solid understanding of the German healthcare system, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) landscape and the regulatory/compliance framework relevant to patient organization partnerships

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work comfortably in a cross-functional environment

  • Able to build and maintain close, collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and integration of strategies, tactics, and content

  • Strong organizational capabilities; detail-oriented

  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines

  • Deadline-driven and accustomed to juggling multiple priorities with a sense of urgency

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability in establishing and cultivating effective working relationships with cross-functional counterparts and patient advocacy groups

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes within a growing organization and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to deliver in high-pressure situations and with short deadlines.

  • Strong ability to demonstrate attention to detail

  • Established network across patient advocacy organizations, healthcare associations, and relevant healthcare stakeholders in Germany

  • Consistently ensure operating in accordance with BeOne’s current Code of Conduct and GxP and non-GxP Global Standards

Education Required:

  • Master's degree (preferred Public Health, Health Policy, Communications, Life Sciences or related field)

  • Fluent in German and excellent English writing and editing skills

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Develop and execute the patient advocacy strategy for Germany

  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with patient organizations and key healthcare stakeholders

  • Represent the patient perspective in cross-functional decision-making and external engagement activities

  • Lead patient-focused projects and campaigns from concept through implementation and evaluation

  • Collaborate effectively across Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs/Public Policy, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Communications functions

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, industry codes, transparency requirements, and company policies

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • May oversee external agencies, consultants, vendors, and project-based partners as required

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

  • Strong digital literacy

Other Qualifications:    

  • Strong passion for patient-centered healthcare and improving patient outcomes

  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans

  • Experience in oncology, hematology or rare diseases areas is highly desirable

Travel: 

  • Domestic travel within Germany required

  • Occasional international travel within Europe and globally for company meetings, congresses, and patient advocacy engagements

  • Flexibility to attend external meetings, conferences, and events outside regular office hours when required

Salary Range Germany: 95,100.00 EUR - 118,900.00 EUR
