Who We Are:
InGenius Prep was founded in 2013 by law students at Harvard and Yale. Since then, the company has grown to a team of more than 200 full-time employees and 600 part-time employees, with offices in the U.S., Canada, China, and other countries.

What We Do:
Our programs offer strategic mentorship, academic support, and admissions guidance for students from middle school through graduate school.

How You’ll Help:
The Director of Application Counseling is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management, training, and quality assurance of our counseling network. Crucially, they will drive initiatives to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and student outcomes in the Application Counseling work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Management: Lead, manage, and develop counselors, including oversight of onboarding, training, performance management, and ongoing professional development. Establish relevant management and quality control infrastructure to establish proactive management structures and support other managers in management work
  • Training: Improve training oversight and content to help new counselors develop expertise in admissions counseling content and customer experience
  • Strategy & Escalation: Evaluate counselor work directly and troubleshoot family complaints, including review of applications from counselors who escalate their need for additional oversight
  • Internal Programming: Lead special workshops and bootcamps for AC students as well as support programs for counselors
  • Direct Student Work: Work with a small caseload of specialized students
  • Data: Analyze program performance, mentor utilization, and client feedback to inform continuous improvement.

  • 5+ years of experience in education, admissions consulting, management consulting, coaching, client services, or another high-performance, client-facing environment.
  • Prior people-management experience, with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and hold high standards.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills paired with the ability to execute and operationalize ideas.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, particularly when working with high-net-worth families and senior stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and comfort navigating complex or high-stakes situations.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-growing, evolving organization where structure is actively being built.

Location:
This is a Remote position, ideally located in the East Coast or Pacific Time Zone. Work is spread throughout the day so you should be prepared to work in the evenings and weekends.

Compensation:
Base Salary: $80,000+
