This role also supports End-to-End and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across VFMP Modernization projects and drives corrective action on adverse quality trends.

The Quality Management Specialist role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in quality assurance and testing for government deliverables and systems. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position.

Offers will be contingent upon client approval, ability to meet security requirements, and the ability to adhere to any on-site requirements (which may change at contract award).

Remote work is anticipated. However, occasional travel for client engagements may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality control review of all work products and deliverables to meet the QASP standard of 98% accuracy, including correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Develop plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product and service quality throughout the deliverable life cycle.
  • Support End-to-End testing and UAT for Veteran and Family Member Program (VFMP) Modernization projects, including UAT Plans, test cases, test scenarios, End-to-End Test Plans, test schedules, and tester training.
  • Maintain a Production Defect and Issue Tracker logging all opened and closed defects and issues, including detailed descriptions, dates, owners, next steps, and required escalations.
  • Monitor operations to prevent the production of defects and verify adherence to quality plans and requirements.
  • Analyze and investigate adverse quality trends or conditions and initiate corrective action, including firm commitments for changes needed to meet standards.
  • Develop and apply performance metrics to monitor program status, and analyze metrics to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Validate that automation and modernization tools meet 100% of agreed business requirements during User Acceptance Testing prior to deployment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience in quality management, quality assurance, or deliverable quality control, preferably supporting government programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing quality plans, monitoring adherence to quality requirements, and driving corrective action.
  • Experience supporting UAT or End-to-End testing, including developing test cases, test scenarios, and test schedules.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, tools, and techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, CMMI, ISO 9000/9001, or the Malcolm Baldrige criteria.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas and solutions logically both written and orally.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive feedback from clients and implement changes quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
