The Field Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing sales performance, coaching and developing field representatives, managing key customer relationships and helping to shape the company's commercial strategy. It does require regular travel.
Monitor sales activity and performance against targets.
Analyse sales trends, margins, discounting and commercial performance.
Lead regular team calls and weekly planning sessions.
Identify opportunities for growth and areas requiring additional support.
Monitor customer engagement and follow-up activity to maintain high service standards.
Drive motivation and accountability across the sales team.
Conduct regular field visits alongside sales representatives.
Assess and develop commercial skills through coaching and mentoring.
Standardise sales processes and customer communication.
Share best practice across the team to improve performance.
Support representatives with complex customer situations and after-sales enquiries.
Provide guidance, encouragement and ongoing professional support.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Support representatives with prospecting activities and lead generation.
Build relationships with key equestrian businesses, professional riders and influential industry contacts.
Develop strategic accounts and maximise long-term commercial opportunities.
Increase market share through proactive business development.
Contribute to the development of sales and growth strategies.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
Provide valuable feedback from the field to senior leadership.
Help identify opportunities for new products, services and market expansion.
Support the delivery of business objectives and long-term growth plans.
Monitor and manage demonstration equipment across the sales network.
Oversee inventory allocation and movement.
Manage returns, exchanges and outstanding customer orders.
Ensure representatives have the tools and resources required to perform effectively.
Identify and attract high-calibre sales professionals.
Support recruitment activities within assigned regions.
Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
Develop ongoing coaching and training programmes to maintain high standards across the team.
Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers and industry influencers.
Develop a strong understanding of key accounts and their business needs.
Represent the brand at major industry events and competitions.
Ensure a premium customer experience across all touchpoints.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Previous experience managing field-based sales teams.
Strong commercial awareness and sales analysis skills.
Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent customer relationship management skills.
Experience handling complex customer situations professionally and effectively.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
A proactive and results-driven mindset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for the equestrian industry and understanding of the sector would be highly advantageous.
£50,000 Basic Salary
£70,000/£73,000 OTE.
