Job description

Build our future together:

The National Business Director (NBD), will report to the Executive Director of US Strategic Customer Engagement. They will be responsible for optimizing business performance through the medical specialist and management teams to support the anticipated launch of two bispecific treatments (if approved) for two distinct disease states. This will be accomplished by maximizing growth of the products within the Hematology Oncology Commercial portfolio while remaining steadfast in Regeneron’s goal to serve patients. This person will lead the Field teams, motivating and developing the team to deliver upon CBU goals and customer expectations while working closely with all cross functional teams. This will include personal accountability and responsibility for all products within the Hematology Oncology portfolio, developing and implementing Field based strategies and associated tactics to optimize operational and financial goals.

The individual must be capable of developing credible and trusted relationships with Field personnel as well as aligning, through knowledge and experience, colleagues in Marketing, Market Access, Field reimbursement, Commercial Operations, Trade and Distribution and Medical Affairs. They must also align collaboration with partnersders across the rest of the Commercial, Corporate and R&D organizations.

The successful individual in this role will have strong presence with experts in the field and be able to develop key relationships with experts in the emerging tumor type therapeutic areas.

The NBD must foster a customer/patient driven Regeneron culture ensuring patients are first in all business activities. This must be accomplished while continuing to deliver Field commitments within budget, revenue targets and timelines while remaining steadfast in ensuring Field team compliance with federal, state and local laws, industry regulations and guidelines.

The NBD will lead a team of Regional Directors and their hematology oncology medical specialist teams.

When & where:

  • Field based but with the expectation for regular visits to the Sleepy Hollow, NY HQ office as needed.

Discover your role:

  • Hire and train a Field team to meet the needs of the CBU to enable a successful launch of two bispecific agents (if approved) in agreed upon timeframe to be ready to launch day 1 post approval (if granted).
  • In collaboration with the ED Commercial Hematology Oncology, develop and implement a commercial strategy that will enable Regeneron to become a major player serving the Hematology Oncology market.
  • Contribute to the development of the Company’s strategic commercial plan to significantly and profitably grow the business.
  • Establish individual business relationships and a strong presence with experts in the field and be able to develop key relationships with experts in the emerging tumor type therapeutic areas.
  • The individual must be capable of developing credible and trusted relationships with direct reporting personnel in the Field, as well as aligning through knowledge and experience, colleagues in Marketing, Market Access, Field reimbursement, Commercial Operations, Trade and Distribution and Medical Affairs. They must also align collaboration with key stakeholders across the rest of the Commercial organization, Corporate and R&D organizations.
  • Lead a high quality, high performing sales team capable of realizing fully Regeneron’s technology and commercial promise to patients. This must be accomplished while continuing to deliver Field commitments within budget, revenue targets and timelines.
  • Ensure Field team compliance with federal, state and local laws, industry regulations and guidelines at all times.

This role requires:

  • BS in a life sciences or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Recent launch experience with Oncology biologics, and hematology oncology biologics in particular, a strong plus
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience with +7 years people and industry leadership experience through progressively increasing leadership positions.
  • Must be a seasoned sales executive and proven leader with sophisticated sales management skills and a solid track record of accomplishment. Experience in both major pharmaceutical and in biotech companies is preferred.
  • Must have experience in leading a highly successful and closely knit sales team.
  • Experience in selling a biologic product and experience in the “buy and bill” reimbursement area is required.
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and will be capable of articulating the Company’s strategies and how they relate to our core values.
  • Must be comfortable working with Regeneron Sr. Leadership, internal and external scientific leaders in a science-focused culture.
  • Strong leadership skills required including strong record of hiring, developing and retaining personnel while delivering agreed revenue targets.
  • Ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams and to achieve results through cooperation with other commercial functions.
  • High energy, inspirational leadership skills with exceptional communication and team building ability.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the value of diversity in a team.
  • Ability to quickly display credibility and build support for necessary initiatives within the Oncology business unit and across other related functions and Regeneron.
