Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions for our domestic and international operations. This role offers exposure to a variety of areas throughout the organization—including international experience supporting our Latin American entities—and the opportunity to grow within the finance function of a public-company environment. 

This position is based at our Glen Allen, VA office, with work-from-home flexibility one day per week. 

In This Role, a Typical Day Will Look Like: 

  • Playing a supporting role in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met. 

  • Preparing journal entries and monthly account reconciliations with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare and/or review journal entries for properly stated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy. 

  • Performing balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis—identifying financial drivers, investigating variances, and preparing clear supporting explanations for management. 

  • Preparing audit-ready schedules, account reconciliations, rollforwards, and supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests. 

  • Gaining international experience through consolidation activities, FX revaluations, and general support to our Latin American entities. 

  • Ensuring compliance of assigned SOX and audit areas for general accounting. 

  • Preparing reporting packages and schedules per corporate requirements. 

  • Analyzing financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and communicating findings to management in clear business terms. 

  • Serving as a resource for accounting questions from other departments and the senior leadership team, backing up the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants. 

  • Developing and implementing process improvements to standardize processes, strengthen reconciliations, and improve audit readiness. 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (3–4 years preferred), in industry accounting or public accounting. 

  • Strong balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis skills, with the ability to identify drivers, investigate variances, and prepare supporting explanations. 

  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, or equivalent public accounting/audit experience. 

  • Comfort working in ERP and reporting environments, with strong Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, trend review, and variance support. 

  • Ability to thrive in a high-demand finance function with competing priorities, recurring close deadlines, and frequent audit and compliance deliverables. 

  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through on commitments, and clear, professional communication with finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional partners.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 USD per year. 

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
