Job description

Our client, a leading operator in the iGaming and sports betting industry, is looking for an experienced and hands-on Country Manager to oversee their operations in Tanzania.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands what it takes to run a high-performing betting operation. You'll be responsible for ensuring the business operates efficiently, remains fully compliant with local regulations, delivers an outstanding customer experience, and achieves its operational and commercial objectives.

As Country Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the Tanzanian business, leading local teams, managing key stakeholder relationships, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the brand continues to perform in a competitive and highly regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tanzanian business, ensuring efficient, compliant, and commercially successful performance.
Ensure full compliance with all local gaming regulations, licensing requirements, responsible gambling standards, and internal company policies.
Manage and develop high-performing local teams across Operations, Customer Support, Marketing, Retail, Finance, and Compliance, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Work closely with regional and global teams to ensure operational processes, product delivery, payments, CRM initiatives, and customer support meet local market requirements.
Monitor operational performance through KPIs and reporting, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, payment providers, suppliers, retail partners, and other key stakeholders within Tanzania.
Oversee budgeting, operational planning, forecasting, and country-level reporting while maintaining ownership of local operational performance.
Ensure products, promotions, and customer communications are appropriately localised for the Tanzanian market.
Monitor competitor activity, customer behaviour, and market developments, recommending operational improvements and strategic initiatives where required.
Support the successful delivery of new products, system enhancements, and operational projects within the local market.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proven operational leader with experience in the iGaming, sports betting, online betting, casino, lottery, or wider gaming industry. You'll have a strong understanding of operating within regulated African betting markets and be comfortable managing multiple functions while balancing operational efficiency, compliance, customer experience, and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Proven leadership experience within an iGaming or sports betting operation.
Strong knowledge of betting operations, customer support, payments, fraud prevention, compliance, and retail and online betting environments.
Experience working with gaming regulators and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams.
Strong operational planning, reporting, and performance management capabilities.
The ability to analyse operational data and translate insights into practical improvements.
Experience working within Tanzania or another African betting market would be highly advantageous.
