Motor Claims Handler

Job Location: Ireland – Home working

Join our team as a Motor Claims Handler, managing motor claims from first notification through to settlement while delivering outstanding customer service and positive claim outcomes.

As a Motor Claims Handler, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent claims service for a major motor client, managing a varied caseload from initial notification through to settlement. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you'll be responsible for investigating, assessing, negotiating and concluding both first-party and third-party motor claims, ensuring each case is handled fairly, efficiently and in line with regulatory and client requirements.

This is a fast-paced role that combines technical claims handling, customer service and problem-solving. You'll proactively manage a portfolio of over 150 claims, carrying out liability investigations, engaging with customers and third parties, managing suppliers and achieving defined quality and closure targets. You'll also have the opportunity to handle customer complaints, making previous complaints-handling experience advantageous, particularly if you have an understanding of CPC requirements.

We're looking for someone who can build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and external partners while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach. The role would suit an organised and resilient individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, can adapt to changing priorities, and takes pride in delivering positive outcomes for customers and clients alike.

The skills you will have when you apply: 

  • Motor Claims & FNOL Experience – Previous experience within a motor claims environment, ideally handling First Notification of Loss (FNOL) claims, with a strong understanding of motor claims processes and classifications.
  • Insurance Qualifications – Commercial APA qualification in Insurance (or higher) is essential.
  • Policy & Claims Knowledge – Knowledge of motor insurance policies, claims handling procedures and industry best practice, with an understanding of quantum and market agreements/developments.
  • Decision Making & Problem Solving – Strong analytical, numerical and judgement skills, with the ability to investigate claims, assess liability and make informed decisions.
  • Customer Service & Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiation & Influencing – Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, capable of achieving fair claim outcomes and positively influencing stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy – High levels of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing documentation, assessing claims and maintaining records.
  • Adaptability & Resilience – Able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing business needs.
