About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to improving and scaling a digital loyalty platform by designing and developing enterprise web applications. You will work across both backend and frontend technologies, building scalable systems and APIs while adapting to evolving technologies and frameworks.

You will collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions, contribute to technical improvements, and support the growth of the product through effective engineering practices. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to work effectively within a development environment.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise web applications.
  • Work across backend and frontend development to deliver product enhancements.
  • Apply REST API design principles when developing software solutions.
  • Adapt to different technologies and frameworks as required.
  • Work effectively within a development team.
  • Collaborate across teams and organisations through effective communication.
  • Coach developers and support colleagues in achieving their best work.
  • Apply problem-solving and debugging skills to resolve technical challenges.

  • Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years experience developing enterprise web applications.
  • Experience working on public clouds, with GCP preferred, but AWS, Azure, etc. also acceptable.
  • Proficient in backend web development using technologies such as Typescript, Python or Java.
  • Experience with front-end development using Javascript frameworks/libraries such as React.
  • Ability to work with multiple languages.
  • Proven ability to adapt to different technologies and frameworks.
  • Relational database skills with MySQL or other RDBMS databases.
  • Knowledge of REST API Design Principles.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organisations.
  • Ability to coach developers and get the best out of your colleagues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and debugging ability.
  • Experience with version control systems – GIT.
  • Computer Science or Software Engineering related Degree is the minimum tertiary level qualification expected for this role.

  • Nice to Have
    • Previous work experience in a startup environment.
    • Working knowledge of QA methodology, CI testing techniques and approaches.
    • Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
    • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
    • Experience building and testing automation using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, JUnit, Codeception, Selenium or similar.
    • Knowledge of Material Design.
    • Knowledge of module bundlers such as Webpack or similar.
    • Experience with geospatial data.
