Job description

This is us

At Avenga, we believe that human creativity empowers technology that matters. Operating globally, our 6000+ specialists provide a full spectrum of services, including business and tech advisory, enterprise solutions, CX, UX and Ul design, managed services, product development, and software development.

This is the job

Join a global leader in digital lottery and gaming technology, building one of the industry's most advanced cloud-based iLottery platforms. The company develops secure, scalable solutions used by millions of players across multiple European markets, combining modern engineering practices with cloud technologies, AI-driven analytics, and high-performance distributed systems.

We're looking for a Performance Engineer who enjoys finding system bottlenecks before customers do. This role goes far beyond executing load tests - you'll help build a mature performance engineering practice by designing performance frameworks, improving test infrastructure, analyzing complex performance issues, and working closely with development teams to continuously improve system scalability and reliability.

This is the team

You'll become part of a cross-functional engineering team working on a large-scale cloud platform used in the online lottery industry. You'll collaborate daily with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners, and Security specialists to ensure every release meets demanding performance and reliability standards.

This is a highly collaborative environment where performance is considered a key quality attribute throughout the development lifecycle rather than a final testing phase.

  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, Gatling or NeoLoad

  • Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, bottleneck analysis, and troubleshooting

  • Infrastructure as Code (Ansible or similar)

  • Linux administration and deployment experience

  • DevOps mindset

  • Open-source contributions

This is your role

  • Design, develop and maintain automated performance tests for large-scale applications

  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to optimize application scalability

  • Build and maintain performance testing frameworks and infrastructure

  • Prepare and present performance test reports with actionable recommendations

  • Review code and performance-related changes following engineering best practices

  • Support deployment and troubleshooting of performance testing environments

  • Develop supporting automation scripts and tools

  • Collaborate with Product, Development, QA, DevOps and Security teams throughout the SDLC
