Job description

Company Overview

Our client is a software company that helps property managers inspect and document properties, then turn what they find into clear, professional reports. Started in 2014, its platform now supports 20,000+ active users across the U.S. and more than 20 countries, and has processed over 100 million inspection photos.

Its mobile and web applications capture geotagged photos, videos, and voice notes, work offline in real field conditions, generate reports, and connect inspection data with established property management systems. The business is bootstrapped and profitable, and is now applying AI to turn field voice notes into structured inspection reports.

Your Role

You'll bring customer insight into the product cycle from start to finish: clarifying needs, defining practical requirements, and validating new features through real inspection workflows.

You'll ensure Engineering has clear inputs, Support has accurate context, and every release reflects how the product actually works in the field. Your documentation, testing, and judgment will help the team ship confidently and consistently.

You'll:

  • Summarize customer needs and workflow gaps into structured insights

  • Translate those insights into clear, engineering-ready requirements

  • Test mobile and web features through end-to-end inspection workflows

  • Document decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and expected product behavior

  • Reproduce reported issues, identify root causes, and verify fixes

  • Coordinate release readiness across Engineering, Support, and Marketing

  • Write accurate release notes grounded in real product usage

  • Identify recurring patterns and recommend practical product improvements

You Bring:

  • 2+ years in product, operations, QA, implementation, or SaaS roles

  • Experience turning messy feedback into clear, actionable requirements

  • Strong written and spoken English communication

  • Ability to understand complex workflows and simplify them quickly

  • Confidence testing mobile and web experiences thoroughly

  • A proactive approach to documentation and closing clarity gaps

  • Ability to work independently within a lean, senior team

  • Practical experience using AI tools to work faster without sacrificing quality

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with SaaS, PropTech, or real estate workflows

  • Familiarity with mobile app testing and multi-step processes

  • Experience writing acceptance criteria or lightweight product specifications

  • Exposure to release notes, help documentation, or product analytics

What's Offered:

  • Fully remote contractor role across the Americas

  • Approximately 40 hours per week, with some flexibility

  • What we'd estimate for a role like this: around $2,000 to $4,000 USD per month, based on experience, impact, location, and hours

  • Paid weekly in USD. Share the range that fits your level and we'll go from there

  • Up to 20 paid days off per year

  • Direct collaboration with the Head of Engineering, with real influence over product quality

This role requires reliable overlap with the company's primary working window of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Interview Process:

1️⃣ Intro Call: your background, motivation, and how you approach product decisions
2️⃣ Practical Exercise: analyze a workflow and draft clear requirements
3️⃣ Team Interview: customer scenarios, testing judgment, communication
4️⃣ Engineering Conversation: expectations and how the role fits release cycles
5️⃣ Final Conversation: company context and next steps

Most candidates move from the first conversation to a decision within approximately two to three weeks.

Apply once. Then go straight to the hiring manager.
