About the Role
The HR PMO Manager is responsible for providing project management, governance, planning, and execution support across the Human Resources function. This role acts as a central coordination point for strategic HR initiatives, organizational changes, and employee lifecycle events, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
The role partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Rewards and HR Operations,), HR leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive successful delivery of HR programs, process improvements, and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Project and Program Management
Support and Manage HR projects from initiation through implementation and post-project review.
Develop project plans, timelines, governance structures and risk registers
Track project milestones, dependencies, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
Facilitate project steering committees, working groups, and governance forums.
Identify project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies.
HR Lifecycle Event Management
Manage large-scale employee lifecycle events from a project management perspective, including:
Performance management cycles
Talent review and succession planning processes
Compensation and reward reviews
Organizational restructures and workforce transitions
Coordinate stakeholders, timelines, communications, and operational readiness activities for lifecycle events.
HR Transformation and Change Initiatives
Support the delivery of HR transformation programs and organizational change initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
Support HR technology implementations, upgrades, and system integrations.
PMO Governance and Reporting
Establish and maintain HR PMO standards, methodologies, templates, and reporting frameworks.
Develop and manage project dashboards, status reports, and executive updates.
Monitor project performance against agreed KPIs and success measures.
Ensure compliance with governance, risk management, and audit requirements.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with HR leaders and teams
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes.
Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to senior leadership.
Act as a trusted advisor on project delivery and change management best practices.
Resource Planning and Prioritization
Support portfolio planning and prioritization of HR initiatives.
Coordinate project resources across HR teams and external partners.
Manage competing priorities and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
About You
Essential
Significant experience in project or program management, preferably within HR or People functions.
Strong understanding of end-to-end employee lifecycle processes.
Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects and stakeholders.
Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Desirable
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent).
Experience supporting HR transformation, system or organizational change programs
Knowledge of HR operating models and HR service delivery frameworks
