Job description

The Compliance Specialist in Dealer Development drives the integrity and compliance of all Dealer Agreements (for all Brands) by ensuring documentation is accurate, legally sound, and executed with precision. Responsible for dealers’ ownership records and serves as a trusted advisor to all Brands, Zones, and Dealers, providing expert guidance to enable informed, risk-mitigated decisions. Plays a critical role in safeguarding corporate interests while supporting strategic dealer network initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

RCDS (Request Change Dealer Status) Review and Processing

  • Primary point of contact for all dealer status changes, including ownership transfers, buy/sell transactions, relocations, and other matters requiring contractual or regulatory review.

  • Conduct comprehensive dealer reviews for RCDS, including credit assessments and candidate background checks to support approval recommendations.

  • Perform detailed legal and corporate compliance reviews of transactional documentation to ensure adherence to corporate policies, and internal governance requirements.

  • Manage high-volume dealer transactions from initiation through closing, ensuring all conditions and requirements are fulfilled, targets are achieved, and tight deadlines are consistently met.

  • Prepare, review, and issue Dealer Agreements, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate and legal requirements.

  • Coordinate with Zone, National, Legal, Credit, Finance, and Senior Management stakeholders to ensure dealer transactions meet all business requirements and are completed within established timelines.

  • Maintain and update RCDS documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

  • Manage and track all approval workflows, ensuring compliance with requirements.

Reporting

  • Deliver high-quality monthly executive reporting and presentations that support informed decision-making.

  • Lead monthly alignment with Zone Dealer Development and Zone General Managers to ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation on RCDS and facility projects.

  • Proactively manage and monitor key transaction milestones to ensure dealer information remains current and all required documentation is obtained in a timely manner.

Franchise Disclosure Document

  • Create Compliant, up-to-date Franchise Disclosure Document templates.

  • Timely approval and delivery of Franchise Disclosure Document documentation.

  • Prepare and issue dealer-specific transaction documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and corporate standards.

  • Accurate processing and tracking of all Franchise Disclosure Document agreements.

Sharepoint (Dealer information and documentation library)

  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of dealer information across systems and records to support corporate compliance requirements.

  • Manage dealer data and documentation, ensuring information remains current, reliable, and accessible to support business operations.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance standardized templates and documentation to support Zone Dealer Development operations.

Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree or community college certificate is preferred

  • Paralegal or Law Clerk certification preferred

  • 3-5 years' experience

  • Contract/agreement administration experience

  • Exposure to Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD)

  • Automotive Industry experience

  • Experience working with Legal, Finance, and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong Organizational Skills, Project Management, Contract & Compliance knowledge

  • Financial analysis know-how, strong Excel, strong Power Point, strong Word, and Mapping Software Experience

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all members of the team.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships within Honda North America as well as all other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop, establish and maintain good working relationship with Honda North America suppliers, partners, consultants, stakeholders and other network contacts.

  • Enjoys team building approach of management and department - shares results.

HIRING PRACTICES

The salary range for this position is $72,921.00 - $86,593.00 annually. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of job-related factors, including education, experience, knowledge, and skill set.

This is an on-site with occasional work-from-home position that requires employees to work on-site four days per week with the opportunity to work-from-home one day per week (with a dedicated workspace at the assigned company office).
