About the Role

The Appeal Staff Attorney role focuses on reviewing and responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and other post-submission USCIS requests. Attorneys are responsible for reviewing legal strategies prepared by paralegals, ensuring that all USCIS requirements are addressed, reviewing cover letters and supporting evidence, and conducting detailed final packet reviews before submission.


Your Key Contributions

  • Review draft immigration applications pursuant to instructions from Senior Attorneys.
  • Identify, track, and make necessary edits prior to submission.
  • Clearly communicate to other team members regarding edits.
  • Meet daily goals on reviewing cases.
  • Perform legal research on immigration law topics


What Makes You a Great Fit

  • The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar.
  • Ability to follow detailed directions .
  • Experience using a case management software system preferred .
  • Interest in immigration law preferred .
  • Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family .
  • Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management-DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)  


Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST.


Compensation

The expected salary for this role is $65,000 - $69,750 though the final offer will reflect several factors such as your experience, skills, and the role's location and may be outside of this range. Candidates should expect offers that reflect their individual qualifications, experience, and location. The salary provided is directional, and actual compensation may vary.
