Summary

The Clinical Analyst II (AMBGG/CCMG certified) serves as a key contributor to the interpretation of genetic findings and supports accurate diagnosis and case resolution through exome and genome sequencing workflows. This mid-level role builds on foundational clinical analysis competencies by performing independent case reviews with minimal supervision. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Independently perform clinical data analysis and case management to support the accurate interpretation of genetic findings, including reanalysis. 
  • Establish phenotype-genotype correlations across a wide range of genetic disorders using internal resources and professional tools. 
  • Investigates and interprets complex clinical features of genetic conditions; documents evidence and rationale for variant classification in a clear, standardized format. 
  • Meets or exceeds productivity and error standards as assigned by the team lead. 
  • Perform clinical analysis at a moderate case rate. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance team objectives. 

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • PhD in Biology, Genetics, or related field, MD or DO with more than 2 years of directly relevant experience in clinical diagnostics (including fellowship) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including the ability to maintain high proficiency with internal systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Office 365 environment 
  • At least one year of independent clinical analysis experience 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • ABMGG or CCMG certification required

Compensation: Salary is dependent upon country, experience, and credentials.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment using standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and video conferencing tools. Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs.

Physical Demands

This is a sedentary role requiring prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer. Physical demands include:

  • Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers for typing and mouse operation
  • Visual acuity for reading computer screens and documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone and video calls
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds (office supplies, equipment)
