Job Role: Estimator/Scheduler

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an innovative Australian construction solutions provider specialising in permanent PVC formwork systems for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Focused on improving efficiency, quality, and compliance, the business delivers modern building solutions that simplify construction while reducing project timelines, labour requirements, and on-site waste.

The company works closely with builders, engineers, and contractors to provide engineered formwork systems that enhance structural performance, improve safety, and support faster project delivery. Its solutions are designed to meet the evolving needs of the construction industry by combining practical design, sustainability, and ease of installation.

Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator / Scheduler to join our team, supporting permanent formwork projects from plan review through to quotation.

In this role, you'll interpret construction drawings, quantify materials, prepare bills of quantities, and generate accurate quotes for our permanent formwork systems. You'll play a key part in ensuring estimates are completed efficiently and accurately while supporting the delivery of residential and commercial projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with estimating experience who enjoys working with plans, measurements, and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural and structural drawings for permanent formwork projects.
  • Read, interpret, and mark up construction plans.
  • Quantify materials required for each project.
  • Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQs).
  • Generate accurate quotations using the company's itemised pricing system.
  • Verify measurements and ensure estimates are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain organised project files and estimating documentation.
  • Liaise with internal team members to clarify project requirements when necessary.
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking estimating workloads to ensure timely quote delivery.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in estimating, scheduling, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing material take-offs and bills of quantities.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam is highly regarded.
  • Experience using estimating software such as PlanSwift or similar estimating platforms is also welcomed.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience estimating permanent formwork, formwork systems, or precast construction products.
  • Exposure to residential or commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of concrete or structural construction processes.
  • Experience working with Australian construction drawings and standards.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
