Who you are:

The Student Sales Coordinator (National EC) guides students and families through every stage of the HSOB programs application and pre-departure process, including managing initial inquiries, processing applications, confirming participants, and providing pre-departure support.

Success in this role requires the ability to build meaningful relationships, motivate students to take the next step in their study abroad journey, and instil confidence in families. A sales-driven mindset is essential, as every student who studies abroad embarks on a life-changing experience, and the Student Sales Coordinator plays a critical role in making that opportunity a reality. Unlike territory-based coordinators, the Student Sales Coordinator (National EC) provides flexible support across the entire U.S. applicant funnel. This role shifts priorities based on application volume, staffing needs, school event schedules, and departmental priorities. The National EC continuously monitors application volume and staffing gaps, including vacancies, PTO, and travel, to ensure timely outreach across all territories. The goal is to ensure every applicant receives initial outreach within three business days. When a territory-based Student Sales Coordinator position is vacant, the National EC assumes ownership of that territory's applicant pipeline until the position is filled.

The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates mastery of the sales process, maintains consistently high outreach volume, and is committed to supporting the success of the entire department. This role also requires domestic and occasional international travel to support recruitment efforts.

What you’ll do

  • Communicate the Value of Study Abroad – Inspire and educate U.S. high school students and their legal guardians about the life-changing benefits of studying abroad.
  • Engage and Motivate Applicants – Follow a structured sales outreach process to proactively connect with students and families via phone, text, and email, focusing on converting leads to open applications.
  • Guide Students Through the Application Process – Provide coaching and support throughout the scholarship and application journey, helping families navigate barriers to participation.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service – Offer professional and timely assistance to students and parents from initial inquiry through program acceptance, confirmation, and pre-departure preparation.
  • Manage a High Call Volume – Consistently exceed 30 calls per day (resulting in over 500 minutes of talk time per week), adjusting outreach focus based on application volume spikes and highest-potential territories.
  • Host Virtual Webinars – Lead large-group presentations for students and parents, including some evening sessions.
  • Present at In-Person Events – Visit high schools to connect with students and families, requiring occasional domestic travel.
  • Applications Review and Acceptance – Review applications for eligibility, approve acceptances, and convert applicants into confirmed, paid participants.
  • Oversee Participant Financials – Ensure accurate financial records, follow up on payments, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Utilise Salesforce for Pipeline Management – Track and manage applicants, maintain accurate communication records, and work toward enrollment goals in our CRM system Salesforce.
  • Provide Summer Program Support – Assist participants while they are on-program.
  • Support Recruitment Efforts – Travel domestically as needed to promote programs and represent the organisation at school events.
  • Chaperone International Student Flights – Accompany student groups on flights up to once per year.
  • Participate in Ongoing Training – Engage in sales and professional development sessions to improve effectiveness and professional growth.
  • Adapt to a Flexible Work Schedule – Some evening hours are required to accommodate students and guardians.
  • Provide Emergency Travel Support – Be available for 1–2 travel weekends per year to assist with urgent situations.
  • Demonstrate High Flexibility – This role does not have assigned territories and requires adaptability to support different regions and team needs as priorities shift.
  • Cover Pipeline Management – Step in when other Coordinators are at in-school presentations or on PTO to ensure no loss of outreach.
  • Support Seasonal Employees – Monitor sales calls and provide coaching to improve the effectiveness of seasonal staff.
  • Assist with Onboarding and Training – Support the Conversion Coach in onboarding and continued training of new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations When EC Team is Fully Staffed:

  • Exceed a minimum of 30 calls per day, generating 500+ minutes of talk time each week.
  • Continuously monitor application volume trends and prioritise outreach efforts toward the most promising territories based on current demand.
  • Conduct a high volume of lead outreach, focusing on improving conversion rates from lead to open application.
  • Step in to manage pipeline activities during periods when Enrollment Coordinators are at in-school presentations or on PTO, ensuring no outreach days are lost.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to seasonal employees, monitoring sales calls to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Assist the Conversion Coach in the onboarding and ongoing training of new hires, ensuring they’re well-equipped to meet sales goals.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of customer service, sales, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse high school students is a plus.
  • International travel or study abroad experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
