Title: Investigator South America - Indaiatuba/SP - 121817

Main Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes reported information to determine proper scope of investigation and determine the allocation of additional or specialized investigative resources.
  • Strengthens the Company's anti-retaliation efforts by identifying and investigating retaliatory behaviors and reassuring investigative participants of anti-retaliation protections.
  • Gathers preliminary investigative data (e.g., interviews, digital data, physical evidence, subject matter experts) using fundamental techniques to identify relevant information and draw fact-based conclusions. Comprehensive understanding of evidence collection while adhering to proper chain of custody standards. Ensures requests for digital evidence collection is relevant and within investigative scope parameters.
  • Partners with members of Legal, Ethics, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Internal Audit, Supply Management, and other joint investigative partners throughout the investigation process. Works with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Briefs stakeholders (e.g., Management, Legal, Ethics) periodically on case status, as well as relevant findings during the investigation on a need-to-know basis as determined by the sensitivity or urgency of the investigation.
  • Creates a concise report detailing the factual outcome of the investigation and provides recommendations on risk mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Maintains close liaison with law enforcement and judiciary systems across the enterprise.  Provides testimony in civil and criminal court proceedings and participates in sworn depositions, case preparation, court exhibit identification/organization, and other court matters.
  • Support local security operations as necessary.

  • Previous experience in, and thorough knowledge of conducting complex investigations across a diverse investigative portfolio.
  • Ability to handle multiple investigations and projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to work as part of a global team.
  • Familiarity with local criminal laws.

  • Knowledge of security systems and related technical information
  • Specialized knowledge/experience with the criminal justice system, processes and procedures.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification

Education

Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements (any of the following):

  • Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Degree in a Law/Government discipline or equivalent experience - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Degree in a Security discipline or equivalent experience - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Miscellaneous degree or equivalent experience - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
