Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer IV - Data Engineer for a remote, contract-to-hire position with a Leading Pharmacy Benefit Manager.

Compensation: $66.98 - $69.05 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting data integrations. The Software Engineer Lead will own the design of technology solutions to ensure they meet all resiliency, stability, non-functional, functional, and operational readiness use cases within a cloud-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design to ensure technology solutions meet all resiliency, stability, non-functional, functional, and operational readiness use cases
  • Lead ongoing development, maintenance, and support of existing systems and platforms
  • Manage work direction, lead, influence, and provide feedback to other team members
  • Participate in staffing plans to identify subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide feedback for staff performance reviews
  • Own technology solutions within area, including proactive monitoring and alerting, technological roadmap, and communication of overall health and future sustainability
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement

Primary Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
  • 8-10+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • Experience with a cloud-based platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Proven experience in data pipeline development and an understanding of data governance principles
  • Proficiency with Python for building data pipelines
  • Advanced SQL skills including querying, window functions, and CTEs
  • Experience with Bash/Shell for automation and scripting
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Desired Skills:

  • GCP specific experience (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer)
  • Experience with Dataflow (Apache Beam), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
  • Knowledge of real-time processing and streaming analytics
  • Previous experience in PBM, healthcare, or an environment with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Product Delivery model
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
