As a Data Testing Engineer, you will be the Quality subject-matter expert on a dedicated Scrum Team, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of retail sales data across multiple systems. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and data engineers to validate data pipelines, automate testing processes, and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Location: On-Site, Cincinnati, Ohio

This position is only open to candidates who are currently residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, or are willing to relocate to the area. Please note that this is a full-time, on-site role, and candidates are required to work from the office Monday through Friday. Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an SDET, Software Test Engineer, or QA Automation Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with test automation using Java and/or Python
  • Solid SQL skills with experience writing queries and validating data in SQL Server
  • Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and data-driven applications
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, integration, regression, and automation testing
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with US-based teams
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks
  • Experience validating large datasets or data migration projects is a plus
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal English proficiency

Job duties:

  • Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies

  • Create SQL queries to verify data transformations and troubleshoot data issues
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and automation testing for data-centric applications
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and data engineers to define test scenarios and ensure quality requirements are met
  • Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with engineering teams to drive resolutions
  • Document test cases, test results, and validation procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in test automation, quality processes, and testing best practices
  • Help ensure the stability, reliability, and quality of retail sales data throughout the development lifecycle
