DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Analyze new business and change applications according to criteria established from the Underwriting Rules & Guidelines to assist Underwriting with the acceptance, modification or declination of coverage.
  • Obtain information from various sources and evaluate policy account, when required, to ensure accurate data for insurance coverage.
  • Accept, cancel or reject applications and/or refer policies to Underwriting for review, as necessary.
  • Make sound decisions related to policy coverage and policy terminations.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal personnel, agency force, members, and/or other interested parties in both verbal and written form.
  • Organize and prioritize duties, paying close attention to detail, while meeting established timeframes.
  • Code and/or enter data accurately into various GFB systems for multiple lines of business.
  • Review and/or enter data accurately into pertinent application software.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain suspense files for future follow-up.
  • Read, analyze, interpret, and follow procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals and other documents as required.
  • Perform crossover duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with Sr. Policy Analyst duties as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and have involvement in projects related to Policyholder Services activities.
  • Provide support to the division and department to accomplish departmental goals.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years’ insurance related experience required.
  • Completion of Intro to Risk Management and Insurance (or equivalent/higher education) preferred. 
  • Continued involvement in professional education preferred.
  • Possess moderate skills with computer, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, InfoPath) and Internet.
  • Must enter data into various processing systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in verbal and written form.
  • Possess both analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize duties and work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal form.
  • Customer focused, team oriented and willing to assist in other areas.
