Our client is seeking a Red Hat Satellite Consultant to be responsible for the installation, administration, maintenance, and optimization of the Red Hat Satellite Server environment, ensuring systems are configured according to best practices and customer requirements. This role also develops automation solutions, supports ongoing operations and upgrades, and leads knowledge transfer to facilitate a successful transition to client personnel.

 

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens currently possessing an MBI. 

Responsibilities :
  • Install, configure, and maintain the Red Hat Satellite Server across multiple environments.
  • Partner with customers to ensure system requirements align with Red Hat best practices and technical specifications.
  • Develop and utilize automation tools, procedures, and scripts to improve system administration and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, and upgrades for the Red Hat Satellite Server infrastructure.
  • Ensure server configurations meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and optimize the Red Hat Satellite environment.
  • Document system configurations, operational procedures, and technical processes.
  • Lead knowledge transfer sessions and facilitate the transition of system administration responsibilities from contractor personnel to client staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the implementation and sustainment lifecycle.
Qualifications :
  • Experience Requirement: Minimum of 5 years of Red Hat Satellite administration experience.
  • Implement, configure, maintain, and support Red Hat Satellite Server environments.
  • Perform Red Hat Satellite version upgrades for large enterprise or government environments.
  • Implement and manage Satellite-based automated provisioning, patching, monitoring, and configuration management.
  • Design, develop, and support automated Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server builds.
  • Automate system build, deployment, distribution, configuration, and operational processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot Red Hat Satellite issues by analyzing and interpreting Red Hat SOS reports.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and technical training to support staff to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support and optimize the Red Hat Satellite and RHEL infrastructure.
  • Preferred Qualification: Red Hat Linux certification (e.g., RHCSA or RHCE).
