Textiles & Apparel

It’s our vision to transform the way people find what they love by combining technology with the creative touch of style experts. The Stitch Fix experience is not merely curated—it’s truly personalized to each client we style. We are committed to inspiring our clients to look, feel and be their best selves. Founder Katrina Lake created Stitch Fix to blend the human element of personal styling with individually selected clothing and proprietary algorithms. She shipped the first Stitch Fix order (what we call a “Fix”) out of her Cambridge apartment in 2011 while attending Harvard, and today the company has brought convenience and an exclusive shopping experience to millions of men, women and kids throughout the US and UK. At Stitch Fix, we pride ourselves on personal styling for every one and every body. Our thousands of remote stylists, both in the US and UK, are instrumental in building relationships through Fixes that leverage client feedback and data. The secret to Stitch Fix’s success has been a balance of art and science. Our trusted style partners use our proprietary styling platform to help clients near and far find pieces that fit their lifestyle from everyday occasions to special events. We are building a transformative and inclusive e-commerce model focused on convenience and personal style that makes it radically simple and delightful for customers to discover and buy what they love. So ‘Why Stitch Fix?’ In addition to all of our benefits and perks, no matter what department you work with, every member plays a part in paving the way we bring the power of personalization to millions while disrupting the retail industry with innovation and tech on our side. Job description

About Stitch Fix, Inc.

Stitch Fix (NASDAQ: SFIX) Stitch Fix is redefining retail by combining human creativity with advanced data science and Generative AI. As we build the future of personalized shopping, we’re equally committed to building yours.  We believe in investing in our team as much as our technology. Join us to be a trendsetter in the industry and help us redefine what’s possible for our clients, while we help you reach your full potential.

About the Role

The Core Experience Product Design team is responsible for shaping the end-to-end customer experience across Stitch Fix's most important product journeys—from shopping and styling to incentives, content, and other foundational client experiences. As the Senior Manager, Product Design, you'll lead a team of Product Designers, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to define product strategy, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and build a high-performing design organization. In this role, you'll balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, helping teams navigate ambiguity, solve complex customer problems, and bring thoughtful, measurable experiences to market. You'll invest deeply in developing designers, strengthening cross-functional partnerships, and evolving the design practices, processes, and technologies that enable teams to deliver high-quality work at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Product Designers by providing coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and clear direction while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and business stakeholders to shape product strategy, influence roadmap priorities, and align teams around customer and business outcomes.
  • Guide the design and delivery of intuitive, cohesive customer experiences by helping teams navigate ambiguity, frame complex problems, and translate strategy into high-quality product solutions.
  • Champion design excellence by elevating product thinking, interaction design, systems thinking, and customer-centered decision-making while continuously improving design processes, planning, critiques, and collaboration.
  • Drive operational excellence by using data, customer insights, AI-powered capabilities, and emerging technologies to improve decision-making, increase team efficiency, and strengthen the overall product development process.

How AI and Tools Show Up in Your Day-to-Day Work

  • Use AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and other emerging technologies to improve team productivity, accelerate ideation, streamline documentation, and support high-quality product development.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams using modern product design, collaboration, research, and product development tools to guide work from strategy through execution.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation by encouraging the team to evaluate, adopt, and responsibly apply new technologies and AI capabilities that improve design quality and delivery.

About You

You're a collaborative design leader who enjoys developing people as much as building exceptional products. You bring strong product thinking, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to align cross-functional teams around a shared vision while helping designers grow in their craft and careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Design, UX, or a related discipline, including 3+ years of experience leading and developing Product Design teams.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Research, and cross-functional stakeholders to define strategy and deliver customer-centric digital products.
  • Experience leading teams through ambiguity, balancing long-term strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, and delivering measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of product design principles, interaction design, systems thinking, user-centered design, and modern product development practices.
  • Experience using customer insights, qualitative and quantitative data, and AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to improve team effectiveness and product outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, coaching, and organizational leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading design teams in e-commerce, retail technology, marketplace, or other customer-facing digital product organizations.
  • Experience scaling design systems, design operations, or cross-functional product development processes.
  • Familiarity with experimentation, personalization, or data-informed product development.
  • Experience leading organizational change, building high-performing teams, and mentoring emerging design leaders.
  • Curiosity about emerging AI capabilities and experience helping teams adopt new technologies to improve design workflows and customer experiences.

Why you'll love working at Stitch Fix...

  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives— all voices are heard and valued.
  • We are an innovative company and leverage our strengths in fashion and tech to disrupt the future of retail.
  • We win as a team, commit to our work, and celebrate grit together because we value strong relationships.
  • We boldly create the future while keeping equity and sustainability at the center of all that we do.
  • We are the owners of our work and are energized by solving problems through a growth mindset lens. We think broadly and creatively through every situation to create meaningful impact.
  • We offer comprehensive compensation packages and inclusive health and wellness benefits.
