Job description

Accountabilities:

Ensures that the day-to-day accounting operations related to inventory of entities under the Brunswick Marine in EMEA are in accordance with established Brunswick accounting policies. In particular:

-          Inventory suspended movements validations and corrections

-          Inventory valuation and revaluations

-          Participation in inventory E&O and LCM estimates preparation

-          Revenue recognition entries at month-end ensuring proper cut-off

-          G/L entries

 

Responsible of follow-up and validation of the following tasks:

-          Cycle counts process checks and completeness validation

-          Quarterly and yearly reportings of the cycle counts results

 

Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of the following tasks:

-          Inventory reconciliations and follow-up of discrepancies

-          Timely investigation of inventory clearing accounts

-          Collaboration with other departments (Supply Chain, Customer Service, IT,…) to maintain clean inventory accounts and make sure proper actions are taken to resolve any discrepancies.

-          Balance Sheet reconciliations

-          Ad hoc questions or reports (Internal or BC)

 

Is responsible for SOX controls relating to inventory including proper documentation:

-       Inventory reconciliation between all systems

-       Review Inventory Excess and Obsolescence reserve (judgmental)

-       Monthly review of Inventory adjustments

-       Manage the yearly consignment inventory confirmation process

-       Ensure Cycle Counts are performed according to established rules

-       Review Inventory Count process for finished goods

 

Provides direct assistance to the Company’s management in the following areas:

-       Participates in business process documentation validation, analysis and verification of internal controls, both financial and operational relating to inventory

-       Implementation of improvements mainly around inventory processes and controls

 

Accountable for yearly reporting and submission of data declaration to the attention of insurance brokers for the entities in the scope of the European shared service center.

 

Responsible for various reporting schedules related to the accounting close, including entities from the Venture Group and/or in the scope of the European shared service center.

 

Supports Manager Accounting & Governance with preparation of documents relating to internal and external audits. 

 

Provides relevant support to company’s projects to ensure financial requirements are taken into account based on Manager Accounting & Governance guidelines.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Accounting degree
  • 5 years postgraduate experience in accounting (preferable inventory related)
  • Experience in an International environment preferred with a proven ability to work in team
  • Strong knowledge of excel
  • Fluent in English
  • Other languages are an asset
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Stress-resistant
  • Flexible

Offer:

This exciting position offers a salary range between 66.500€ and 91.500€ (payable in 13.92 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay scale for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location.
