The Director, Website Experience is the business owner of Safeguard Global's main corporate website, safeguardglobal.com, and an ancillary website, globalpeoservices.com. 

This role owns website strategy, customer experience, conversion optimization, technical health, and the cross-functional execution required to continuously improve business results. While this position manages the website development team, its primary responsibility is determining what should be built, why it matters, and how success will be measured. 

Responsibilities and areas of ownership:

  • Own and develop the website strategy and roadmap by synthesizing customer research, analytics, business priorities, and stakeholder input. 

  • Analyze website performance, customer behavior, and conversion funnels to identify optimization opportunities.  

  • Develop and maintain website personas, ICPs, customer journeys, and buying paths in partnership with Product Marketing, Sales, Sales Enablement, Analytics, and Customer Success.  

  • Translate customer insights into website improvements, including messaging, navigation, UX, personalization, forms, trust signals, and conversion strategy.  

  • Own the website experimentation strategy, including A/B testing, personalization, and ongoing optimization. Define meaningful test hypotheses, prioritize experiments, measure results, and incorporate learnings into future improvements.  

  • Partner with Demand Generation and Marketing Automation to design website-connected experiences such as retargeting, abandoned journey campaigns, and lifecycle email journeys.  

  • Partner with Partnership Marketing to optimize partner landing pages and referral experiences.  

  • Own Technical SEO and website health, including Core Web Vitals, accessibility, international SEO, site performance, crawlability, and structured data. Partner with the SEO agency on on-page optimization and content SEO. 

  • Lead and develop two direct reports responsible for website development, prioritize work based on business value, and partner with the Senior Website Developer on architecture and implementation. 

  • Evaluate and adopt AI capabilities that improve customer research, experimentation, website delivery, and team productivity. 

  • Drive cross-functional execution of the website roadmap across Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, Sales Enablement, Creative, Content, Analytics, Engineering, Partnership Marketing, and external agencies. 

  • Communicate website strategy, roadmap, priorities, and business impact to stakeholders and executive leadership.  

 What You'll Bring to the Director, Website Experience position:

  • 8+ years of experience in website strategy, digital experience, UX, CRO, digital product management, digital marketing, or a related discipline.  

  • Demonstrated success improving website conversion through customer research, analytics, experimentation, and user experience optimization.  

  • Experience developing website strategy and managing digital roadmaps.  

  • Experience managing multilingual or international websites.  

  • Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, conversion funnels, and buyer behavior.  

  • Strong analytical skills using GA4, PostHog, Salesforce reports or similar analytics platforms.  

  • Working knowledge of technical website best practices, including Technical SEO, AI search optimization (AIO/GEO), website accessibility (ADA/WCAG), privacy and consent (GDPR), international websites, and Core Web Vitals. 

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.  

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.  


Nice to Have 

  • Experience leading website engineering or digital product teams.  

  • Familiarity with Astro, headless CMS platforms, or similar web technologies.  

  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Lovable, Copilot, or similar to improve customer research, experimentation, prototyping, or software delivery. 

  • Experience managing agencies and external partners.  

About the Team 

This role sits within a two-director Marketing Technology structure alongside the Director, GTM Technology, and reports to the VP, Marketing Operations. You will collaborate closely on form strategy, data capture, chat experience, and compliance. We are a high-trust, high-accountability team.
