Job description

Key Qualifications:

  • Plan, supervise, and monitor geotechnical investigations and geophysical surveys, including field and laboratory testing performed by contractors.
  • Develop geotechnical investigation (GI) scopes of work, prepare field and laboratory testing schedules, and ensure compliance with relevant authority permitting requirements.
  • Apply geotechnical and rock engineering principles to analyze site conditions and deliver engineering solutions for moderately complex projects.
  • Review geotechnical factual reports and prepare geotechnical interpretative reports.
  • Perform geotechnical design for mat and pile foundations on rock, including bridge foundations.
  • Design underground structures and support of excavation systems.
  • Utilize industry-standard software including gINT, RocLab, GeoStudio, Settle3, LPILE, and AutoCAD for analysis, design, and documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and codes, including Eurocode, British Standards, and Ashghal Interim Advice Notes.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors throughout project delivery.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (mandatory).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably with engineering design consultants.
  • Proven hands-on experience in geotechnical investigations, geophysical surveys, and contractor supervision for field and laboratory works.
  • Hands-on design experience in rock engineering (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated experience in foundation design on rock, including mat and pile foundations for bridge structures.
  • Experience in underground construction and support of excavation design.
  • Strong experience in preparing GI scopes of work, geotechnical factual reports, and geotechnical interpretative reports.
  • Previous experience with an engineering design consultancy, preferably an international consultant (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in gINT, RocLab, GeoStudio, Settle3, LPILE, and AutoCAD.
  • Sound knowledge of Eurocode, British Standards, and Ashghal Interim Advice Notes.
  • Business-level proficiency in English with strong verbal communication skills.
