As a Lead, you are empowered to innovate, acting as the ultimate technical authority to ensure our Salesforce instance remains a highly secure, performant, and scalable engine for our customer-facing teams. You will partner deeply with product managers, enterprise architects, and cross-functional leaders to translate complex corporate strategies into robust technical solutions, pioneering best practices and mentoring the engineering team to elevate our collective output.

This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Salesforce Development

What You Will Own

Technical Architecture & Governance

  • Platform Stewardship: Own the overarching technical architecture and governance of the Salesforce platform, ensuring all implementations align with enterprise-grade scalability, security, and performance standards.

  • Framework & Standards: Define, document, and enforce global development standards, branching strategies, design patterns, and CI/CD maturity models for the entire Salesforce team.

  • Guardrails & Performance: Establish platform guardrails to proactively manage governor limits, data storage, and technical debt across all clouds.

Core Ecosystem Strategy (Sales, Service, & Experience Clouds)

  • Enterprise Design: Architect end-to-end solutions within Sales and Service Clouds, optimizing complex automated workflows, large data volumes (LDV), and highly customized Service Console/CTI integrations.

  • Digital Experience Leadership: Drive the architectural direction for Experience Cloud, utilizing Lightning Web Runtime (LWR) to build highly secure, globally performant, and deeply integrated self-service and partner portals.

  • Security & Compliance: Own the security architecture for external-facing sites, establishing strict data sharing rules, guest user security policies, and vulnerability mitigations.

Lead Quote-to-Cash & Billing Architecture

  • Financial System Alignment: Architect and oversee the full Salesforce Billing and CPQ lifecycle, ensuring seamless, audit-ready data flows across pricing, billing rules, invoice generation, revenue recognition, and financial close processes.

  • ERP Integration Ownership: Serve as the technical owner of the synchronization layer between Salesforce Billing and the General Ledger (Sage Intacct / ERP), ensuring absolute data integrity, reconciliation accuracy, and robust error-recovery frameworks.

  • Strategic Stakeholder Partnership: Partner directly with Finance, Revenue Operations, and Executive Leadership to translate complex corporate revenue policies into scalable automated platform mechanics.

Enterprise Integration & Infrastructure

  • API Ecosystem Architecture: Design robust, decoupled integration architectures utilizing MuleSoft, event-driven patterns (Platform Events, Pub/Sub API), and secure REST/SOAP frameworks.

  • Document Automation Governance: Define the integration strategy for contract lifecycle management (CLM) and document automation tools (DocuSign, Conga) across the enterprise.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Team Elevation: Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for the Salesforce engineering team, unblocking complex debugging scenarios across integrations and billing runs.

  • Mentorship & Culture: Actively mentor Senior and Mid-level developers and administrators, cultivating a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and architectural thinking.

  • Review Board: Lead technical design reviews and architecture review boards, providing critical feedback on major initiatives before code hits production.

What You Will Need to Accomplish the Job

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 8+ years of dedicated Salesforce development and architecture experience.

    • Proven track record of architecting and leading enterprise-scale deployments across Sales, Service, Experience, and Salesforce Billing environments.

    • Demonstrated experience mentoring & informally leading technical teams, driving scalable solutions, and managing heavy technical debt remediation.

Technical Competency Requirements

  • Expert Development Skills: Mastery of programmatic Salesforce development (Apex, advanced LWC architecture, SOQL/SOSL, asynchronous processing) and deep knowledge of when to use declarative vs. programmatic solutions.

  • Advanced Billing & CPQ: Deep technical knowledge of Salesforce Billing mechanisms, ledger impacts, payment gateways, and experience architecting integrations with ERP systems.

  • Integration & Event-Driven Architecture: Advanced proficiency with middleware platforms, enterprise integration patterns, OAuth authentication schemes, and streaming APIs.

  • DevOps Mastery: Hands-on experience establishing or managing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines (Copado, Salto, Gearset, or Jenkins) utilizing source-driven development (Git).

  • Data & Security Architecture: Expert-level understanding of the Salesforce Sharing Architecture, shielding sensitive data, encryption, and managing Large Data Volumes (LDV).

Certifications (Highly Preferred)

  • An Elite Problem Solver: You possess deep technical instincts, able to trace complex discrepancies or issues across distributed systems back to their precise root cause.

  • A Strategic Translator: You effortlessly bridge the gap between deep technical code and business outcomes, confidently communicating platform health and architectural trade-offs to VP and C-level stakeholders.

  • A Passionate Force Multiplier: You take pride in leveling up those around you, turning complex concepts into clear architectural patterns that the whole team can execute.
