Job description

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements regional strategies and programs including policy development, review, and amendments in line with employment legislation, Company policy and best practice.
  • Makes recommendations for improving existing benefits programs.
  • Ensures all HR policies relating to employee relations are kept up to date with employment law changes.
  • Ensures the HR team appropriately, effectively and professionally addresses employee relation issues, in a timely manner.
  • Creates and maintains the necessary documents and forms to support the policies and procedures put in place.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Participates in global synchronization and streamlining, at times lead integration workstreams.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations and absence issues.  Attends manager and colleague meetings as necessary.
  • Ensures the hiring process is structured, efficient, and fits within the guidelines of the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Creates and facilitates relevant training programs.
  • In some instances, acts as the liaison between HR and Payroll.
  • Maintains HRIS system and updates as necessary in a timely manner.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries.
  • Creates and maintains job descriptions for all permanent full-time and part-time roles.
  • Conducts workplace investigations and follow-ups on employee concerns.
  • Works in partnership with all employees to resolve issues and disputes including employee relations cases such as disciplinary and grievance.
  • Ensures that confidentiality and relevant data protection requirements are met at all times.
  • Conducts, new employee orientations and other sessions as deemed appropriate in the area of employee relations.
  • In some countries, coordinate requests sent to the HR Department inbox and signposting requests to relevant HR Department team members.
  • Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and developing HR staff.
  • Ensures the HR Team appropriately, effectively, and professionally addresses employee relation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations by understanding and staying current with applicable regional laws.
  • Leads employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Fosters and maintains a positive and professional working relationship with all customers, including management staff, contract staff, permanent hires, and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess effective written and oral communication skills; ability to write, type, express or exchange ideas of a technical nature by means of the spoken word; convey information/instructions accurately; receive detailed information through oral or written forms and to translate those instructions into physical execution of tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of ACT, VISIO, and PowerPoint desired.
  • Ability to sit and type for long periods of time.
  • Ability to coach managers and colleagues.
  • Must be organized.
  • Able to multitask.
  • Discreet and ethical.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Conflict Management, Federal and Multi-State Labor Laws, Benefits Administration, Compensation, Recruitment, Employee Relations, and Employee Development.

Educational Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws, leave laws, performance management, benefits, compensation, organizational planning & development, and employee relations.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM PHR or Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) desired.
  • CIPD Level 5 desired.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources field required.
