Job Summary
Summary
Responsible to conduct interviews and gather essential information from patients, verifying their eligibility for admission and ensuring accurate and timely registration. This role will demonstrate excellent communication skills and compassion while guiding patients through the admissions process and addressing any concerns they may have.

Essential Functions:
-Conduct interviews with patients and their families to gather personal, medical, and insurance information required for admission.
-Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage to ensure the appropriate level of care and coverage for their healthcare needs.
-Facilitate the admissions process, explaining required documentation, consent forms, and any other necessary paperwork to patients and their families.
-Adhere to healthcare facility policies, procedures, and legal requirements to ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory standards during the admissions process.
-Provide assistance and support to patients and their families throughout the admissions process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Health Administration preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Experience in admissions, customer service, or a healthcare-related role. 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with varied patient populations.
- Empathy and compassion to interact sensitively with patients and their families during challenging times.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance plans is beneficial.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer proficiency.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
