Job description

Basic Function

Wolters Kluwer Health’s Health Language (HL) organization is innovative healthcare software and services provider. Our talented team of medical experts, technologists, and product visionaries collaborate to provide advanced clinical decision support solutions that improve our client’s operations by helping healthcare professionals provide optimal care for their patients.

We are seeking a talented, high-energy Content Management Consultant, who understands healthcare terminology as well as a background in developing and maintaining content.  Reporting to Manager, Terminology Operations, this is a hands-on role that will be critical in delivering HL content products and developing new product offerings to help the organization achieve their operational and financial goals. This person has good professional (scheduling, prioritization, work breakdown, communication, planning, etc.), technical (O365, targeted AI exposure, basic web app use), and proven delivery skills.  They can work closely with peers across Health Language, Wolters Kluwer, and our broad customer bases as needed to define and deliver terminology data that improves healthcare outcomes. This position assists with defining actionable stories and acceptance criteria for assignments and areas of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead the efforts to maintain high quality proprietary content and terminology products following established protocols to include mappings between different medical code sets (for example, CPT to SNOMED and ICD-10 to SNOMED CT), value sets using standard terminologies (Sensitivity content), and terms (provider and consumer friendly).

  • Work on special projects and in new product/content development as assigned.

  • Train and mentor other team members on terminology projects in areas of expertise.

  • Collaborate with the development and operations teams to make necessary refinements/improvements in processes or technology that will maximize the effectiveness of Health Language’s products.

  • Emphasis placed on arriving at creative solutions in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.

  • Establish strong rapport with internal clients and establish self as expert in one or more terminology domains.

  • Establish overall guidelines for each terminology maintenance project using applicant’s knowledge and background.

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product content, coordinating responses to complex requests.

  • Understand market and customer workflows, applying this understanding to enhance our products/services to support overall content evolution.

  • Use AI where appropriate to improve delivery efficiency and data quality.

  • Adhere to project processes.

  • Collaborate with product managers, technology development, and UX/UI teams in building new products and enhancements to existing products.

  • May prepare white papers, blogs and other high-value commentary.

  • Assist with research to identify opportunities for new content and product development.

  • Ensure strong project process, data governance, and quality assurance on all projects.

  • Actively participate in staff and company meetings.

  • Estimate time and resources required to complete larger projects.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or other related technical degree or equivalent work experience

  • Areas of expertise preferred but not required

    • CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA certification – OR

    • Clinical background (nursing, medical, Laboratory, pharmacy) – OR

    • Informatics or terminology training/experience

Experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience developing and maintaining healthcare terminology products

  • 7+ years of working with medical terminology (e.g.HCPS, SNOMED, etc.) preferably using Health Language based data models

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications

  • Excellent analytical and research skills required 

  • Technical computer skills required

  • Proficiency in Excel required

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required

  • Strong organizational skills required

  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects

  • Time management skills and ability to work independently required

  • Basic database knowledge preferred

  • Familiarity with AI tools as part of delivery of terminology preferred

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, inquisitiveness and accountability

  • Collaborative – Works closely with team members and stakeholders to define problems, gain perspective, and work to deliver solutions

Compensation:

$76,200.00 - $133,650.00 USD

 

This role is eligible for Bonus.

Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position.  Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
