Job description

Overview

The Business Analyst – VA LGY (VALERI) translates business needs into clear, deliverable requirements that support Veterans and stakeholders. The role develops user stories and breaks down requirements into actionable functionality; analyzes data requirements, business rules, and end‑to‑end data flows from source to screen; and maintains documentation supporting new feature development. The analyst contributes to product design, specifications, and development, produces high‑quality deliverables with guidance from a team lead, reviews solution options, and builds strong, collaborative relationships. Success requires 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and problem‑solving, the ability to shift priorities, leadership in ambiguous situations, and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.

Key Functions

  • Develop an understanding of technology products to meet the customer's current and future needs and the benefits to stakeholders and Veterans.
  • Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality.
  • Analyze application/business domain data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from source to screen.
  • Maintain other documentation related to development of new features.
  • Responsible for contributing to the design, specifications, and development of products to meet the client needs.
  • Create high quality client deliverables with regular supervision from team lead.
  • Prepare and review solution options with team lead to solve tough challenges.
  • Be a good teammate to the client and the delivery team, encouraging and enabling teammates to be their best selves.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the client.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can easily shift focus between high priority tasks as required.
