Ciena is seeking a Technical Content and Solutions Specialist to contribute to its Digital Asset Management (DAM) ecosystem. This role focuses on developing structured, reusable, and machine-consumable content assets that enhance enterprise-wide discoverability and scalability. The position integrates technical writing, structured authoring, and Python-based automation to enable AI-driven content solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on contributor who develops high-quality content and builds automation and integration solutions using Python and modern APIs.

How you will make an impact:

  • Create and maintain structured technical content using DITA/XML in AEM Guides

  • Translate complex technical information into modular, reusable content components

  • Apply retrieval-aware authoring practices to improve content discoverability and reuse

  • Manage content lifecycle activities including versioning, publishing, archival, and retirement

  • Work with AEM Guides and AEM Sites for content authoring, publishing, and lifecycle management.

  • Define and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and classification frameworks across DAM systems

  • Develop Python-based automation for content processing, validation, and workflow optimization

  • Integrate API and LLM-based services to support content tagging, summarization, and retrieval

  • Support content ingestion and migration, ensuring structure and metadata alignment.

  • Ensure adherence to content governance, standards, and best practices.

  • Optimize content and metadata for search, retrieval, and reuse across DAM systems.

 

The must haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in Application of technical writing practices using DITA, XML, and structured authoring concepts such as topics, maps, and reuse mechanisms

  • Proficiency in Python programming for automation and system integration

  • Experience of Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)

  • Experience of AEM Sites for content authoring and publishing workflows

  • Experience of Adobe Edge Delivery Services

  • Exposure to LLM APIs or service-based integrations

  • Knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, including content modeling, metadata, taxonomy, and organization principles

  • Knowledge of cloud/SaaS documentation environments.

  • Basic understanding of retrieval-based concepts (e.g., RAG).

 

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of network engineering concepts

  • Knowledge of DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) principles

  • Knowledge of Retrieval-Aware Authoring (RAA) principles

  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs, ontology, or semantic modeling

  • Understanding of metadata standards such as Dublin Core and schema.org

  • Exposure to vector search, embeddings, or semantic indexing

  • Experience with REST APIs and JSON-based integrations

  • Experience with content quality tools (e.g., Acrolinx, Congree)
