We are HALO! We connect people and brands to create unforgettable, meaningful, and lasting experiences that build brand-negative and loyalty for our over 60,000 clients globally. With over 2000 employees, 1,100 Account Executives and 40+ sales offices across the United States, HALO is the global leader of our $25B industry.
The Director, Supplier Network is responsible for designing, leading, and optimizing HALO’s global supplier portfolio to improve margin, reliability, and speed-to-market across both promotional and non-promotional categories. This role will translate HALO’s growth strategy into a clear supplier vision, consolidate spend with strategic partners, and expand our capabilities in areas such as print-on-demand, point-of-sale, premium/recognition, and internal production.
The Director will own end-to-end supplier performance — including economics, service, quality, compliance, and ESG alignment — while building a high-performing team that partners closely with Sales, Operations, Technology, Marketing, Merchandising, and Seller Solutions to turn supplier capabilities into scalable, seller-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and maintain a multi-year supplier network strategy aligned to HALO’s growth, margin, and ESG goals.
- Own the supplier portfolio design, including segmentation (preferred, strategic, emerging), category coverage, and risk diversification.
- Lead consolidation efforts to drive a higher share of spend to top suppliers while maintaining the flexibility to support unique client and AE needs.
- Identify gaps/opportunities in the portfolio (e.g., POS, print-on-demand, premium, recognition, internal production) and source new partners where needed.
Supplier Performance, Economics & Governance
- Build and manage a supplier scorecard framework to track performance (on-time delivery, quality, service, innovation, ESG, and financial outcomes).
- Lead negotiations on commercial terms (pricing, rebates, early payment discounts, incentives, service levels) in partnership with Finance.
- Create standard frameworks for supplier charge pass-through, dropship margin levers, and other economics that protect and improve HALO margins.
- Partner with Operations, Compliance, and Legal to ensure contracting, risk, and compliance standards are met (product safety, labor practices, data security, etc.).
Non-Promo & Internal Production Expansion
- Partner with category leaders in print, POS, premium/recognition, uniforms, global sourcing, and internal production to build integrated supplier strategies.
- Support the development of internal production capabilities (e.g., banners, awards, and other in-house categories) to improve margins, speed, and control.
- Ensure non-promo and internal production offerings are competitively priced, scalable, and easy for sellers to use in client solutions.
Cross-Functional Enablement & Seller Tools
- Translate supplier capabilities into seller-ready tools and programs (preferred supplier programs, curated assortments, price lists, playbooks, etc.).
- Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Seller Solutions to create campaigns, collections, and program materials that drive supplier adoption and growth.
- Collaborate with Technology and Operations to support supplier integrations, data quality, and frictionless order flow.
- Serve as an executive-level point of escalation for complex supplier issues, partnering with internal teams to resolve challenges quickly.
Sustainability, Diversity & ESG Alignment
- Work with the Sustainability team to embed ESG, supplier diversity, and responsible sourcing into supplier selection, scorecards, and incentives.
- Promote and expand diverse and sustainable supplier participation in HALO programs, events, and marketing.
- Support client and regulatory ESG reporting needs related to the supplier network, including data, documentation, and narratives.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a team of managers and specialists across promotional and non-promotional categories.
- Set clear goals, priorities, and development plans; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Influence and align stakeholders across HALO, including executive leadership, to support supplier strategy and investment decisions.
- 10+ years of experience in supplier management, sourcing, category management, or related roles; experience in promotional products, print, POS, premium/recognition, or uniforms strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including building and developing multi-level teams.
- Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements and improving margin through supplier strategy and execution.
- Experience leading portfolio consolidation and/or standing up new categories, capabilities, or internal production functions.
- Familiarity with ESG, supplier diversity, and responsible sourcing practices and how they apply to supplier selection and management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions, measure performance, and communicate results.
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, Technology, and Marketing in a fast-paced, growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into executable roadmaps.
