Job description

The Content Assistant supports Urban List’s editorial content team by executing essential administrative and reporting tasks across digital platforms. This role ensures seamless affiliate administration, timely
content publishing and performance reporting, facilitation of a backlink strategy and best practice for SEO.

The position plays a vital support role in:

  • Article uploading, publishing, optimising and formatting
  • Affiliate content setup and link generation
  • Affiliate weekly reporting
  • Backlink strategy and outreach
  • EDM construction and scheduling
  • Social content scheduling

Affiliate Link Management & Administrative Support

  • Generate affiliate links and optimise content across editorial and branded content
  • Monitor Affiliate tools (e.g. Linkby, Commission Factory) for link performance and campaign updates
  • Liaise with editorial and partnerships teams to implement and QA affiliate links in content 
  • Tracks and report Affiliate clicks and conversion metrics

CMS Article Building & Publishing

  • Accurately build and format editorial and affiliate articles using supplied copy and assets
  • Ensure all content is styled to brand guidelines, SEO optimised, and accessible
  • Assist with content maintenance, updates, and link refreshes as needed

Email Marketing (eDM) Construction

  • Build visually engaging eDMs using supplied copy and creative
  • Schedule and deploy eDMs in alignment with editorial calendars
  • Support list segmentation and targeting processes where required

Social Media Scheduling

  • Schedule editorial and brand series content across Facebook, Instagram, Stories, and TikTok
  • Ensure content aligns with brand tone and platform specifications

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Use tools such as Google Analytics and affiliate dashboards to track content performance
  • Flag high- or low-performing content for optimisation opportunities
  • Share weekly performance reports with content team across social and affiliate 
  • Basic familiarity with aliate ecosystems, platforms, and tracking (e.g. Linkby, Commission Factory)
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms and email marketing tools (e.g. Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp)
  • Experience with social scheduling tools and/or platforms
  • Exposure to Google Analytics and content performance metrics
  • Strong attention to detail and a love of organisation
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and pivot priorities as needed
  • A collaborative attitude and enthusiasm to learn within a fast-paced digital media environment
