Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to lead and expand its presence in Roanoke, Virginia. This is an exceptional opportunity for a business-generating attorney with an existing book of business to join a firm that provides robust marketing, operational, and administrative support.

This role is ideal for an attorney looking to grow an established practice, increase earning potential, and leverage the resources of a respected firm while maintaining autonomy over their caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution.
  • Handle cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, spousal support, and protective orders.
  • Transition and expand an existing portable book of business within the firm's platform.
  • Continue developing client relationships and referral sources throughout the Roanoke and Southwest Virginia markets.
  • Represent clients in court, mediations, and settlement negotiations across Southwest Virginia.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support continued growth and market expansion throughout Virginia.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Virginia Bar license in good standing.
  • Five or more years of family law experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain a portable book of business.
  • Strong litigation and courtroom experience.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a busy caseload.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow a thriving practice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
