THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of our national performance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate, consistent, and compliant management of weekly benefit entitlements across multiple jurisdictions, supporting a large nationally self-insured client.

The National Weekly Benefits Specialist oversees weekly benefit calculations, ensuring PIAWE accuracy, legislative compliance, and consistent entitlement determination across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.

Working in close partnership with internal claims teams, technical specialists, payroll stakeholders, and client representatives, you will provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and escalation support to ensure accurate decision-making and timely payment outcomes. You will also play a key role in remediation activity, supporting root cause analysis, adjustment processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen system integrity and performance.

This is a permanent, full-time position with flexibility to be based in Sydney, Parramatta, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth, and work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical oversight of PIAWE and weekly benefit calculations for a nationally self-insured client
  • Review complex remuneration and employment scenarios in line with jurisdictional requirements
  • Provide expert guidance to claims teams on entitlement decisions and legislative interpretation
  • Lead quality assurance and remediation activities, including identifying issues and overseeing corrective actions
  • Act as the escalation point for complex entitlement and payroll matters across claims and client stakeholders

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive background in workers’ compensation or technical claims environments with demonstrated PIAWE and weekly benefits experience.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation systems and entitlement frameworks, particularly within self-insurance.
  • Proven ability to operate as a technical expert influencing claims decisions and stakeholder outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail in complex calculation environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operational and client groups
