Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Platform Engineer - Remote position with a Global Financial Institution located in White Plains, NY. This is a 6 month contract opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Administrator / Developer to support, modernize, and migrate enterprise SharePoint platforms from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online. This position is responsible for the design, administration, development, and migration of SharePoint environments, working closely with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to ensure a secure and scalable platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support SharePoint On-Premises (2013/2016/2019) and SharePoint Online environments, including site collections, permissions, storage, and service configurations
  • Design and execute On-Prem to SharePoint Online migration strategies, including content assessment, remediation, and cutover planning
  • Perform migrations using supported tools (e.g. SharePoint Migration Tool, ShareGate, or equivalent enterprise tooling)
  • Develop and enhance SharePoint solutions using Modern SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerShell automation, and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) integration
  • Modernize legacy SharePoint sites, workflows, and customizations into Modern SharePoint Online architectures
  • Implement and enforce governance, information architecture, and lifecycle management practices
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure alignment with data protection, retention, and access control requirements
  • Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related incidents and performance issues
  • Produce clear technical documentation covering architecture, migration plans, and operational processes
  • Support adoption initiatives and provide guidance to end-users and business stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5 years of hands-on experience administering SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online
  • Proven experience delivering On-Prem to SharePoint Online migrations in enterprise environments
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint architecture, service applications, and authentication models
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for administration and migration tasks
  • Knowledge of modern SharePoint development, including SPFx and REST APIs
  • Practical experience working with Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID/Azure AD, Teams, OneDrive)

Desired skills:

  • Experience with ShareGate, SPMT, or similar migration tools
  • Familiarity with records management, retention labels, and compliance features
  • Power Platform development experience (Power Apps / Power Automate)
  • Background working in regulated or security-conscious enterprise environments
  • Experience contributing to platform governance and operating models

Pay range up to: $71.73 per hour
