We're looking for a commercial and contracts professional who can combine hands-on project delivery with a broader ambition to help establish and continue to grow our presence in Europe.

The Opportunity

The Netherlands and broader European region are at the forefront of the energy transition, with significant investment flowing into decarbonisation technologies and sustainable infrastructure. We're looking for a well-rounded individual who has advised on a wide range of procurement, contractual and commercial matters across the lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects, and who is excited by the opportunity to apply that experience to emerging sectors.

Hands-On Delivery

You will be advising leading investors and developers on procurement and contracts management across a range of energy transition projects, including but not limited to:

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
  • Green hydrogen production and infrastructure
  • Green steel and industrial decarbonisation
  • Power-to-X and e-fuels
  • Grid infrastructure and transmission
  • Onshore wind
  • Solar PV

Procurement Management

You will lead and support the full procurement lifecycle:

  • Development of procurement strategies aligned to project schedules, risk appetite and market conditions
  • Supplier pre-qualification, market sounding and Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Preparation of tender documentation including Instructions to Tenderers (ITT), technical specifications and contract terms
  • Management of Requests for Proposal (RFP) processes and tender clarifications
  • Technical and commercial bid evaluation, scoring and recommendation of award
  • Contract negotiations and finalisation, including interface management between packages
  • Coordination of commercial, technical, financial and legal workstreams while ensuring compliance with client governance and approval procedures

Contracts Management

You will provide contracts management support throughout project execution:

  • Contract management and administration, including FIDIC-based and bespoke contracts
  • Management of contractual correspondence and formal notices
  • Oversight of contractor obligations, milestones and key deliverables
  • Processing of variations, change orders and claims in accordance with contract mechanisms
  • Proactive management of commercial relationships with contractors and resolution of disputes
  • Preparation of governance materials and presentations to Steering Committees and investment bodies

Capability Building & Leadership

Beyond project delivery, this role is central to building JUMBO's presence in the Netherlands and Europe:

  • Building out our procurement and contracts management capability in the Netherlands and across the European region
  • Working in close collaboration with Turner & Townsend to leverage synergies and develop integrated client solutions
  • Business development and client engagement across the energy transition sector
  • Growing and developing a team to service our clients and projects over time
  • Contributing to specialist knowledge centres and development of best practices
  • Collaborating with JUMBO's European and global leadership

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking passionate and motivated procurement and contracts management professionals aligned to our vision and excited by the opportunities of working in a rapidly expanding international business.

Desirable Experience:

  • Significant experience in procurement and/or contracts management on energy or infrastructure projects
  • Experience across CCUS, hydrogen, or industrial decarbonisation projects highly desirable
  • Proven track record negotiating and managing major EPC, supply and service contracts
  • Experience with FIDIC contract forms and other standard form contracts
  • Understanding of project lifecycle from development through to operations
  • Experience managing contractor interfaces and multi-contract execution environments
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Structured and methodical approach to work
  • Ability to project manage processes and lead complex negotiations
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of study (engineering, law, quantity surveying, or similar)
  • Dutch language skills advantageous but not essential; fluency in English required

This role is based in the Netherlands, with flexibility on location (Amsterdam preferred, or remote working within the Netherlands. Travel as required).
