Job description

Description

Position at United Veterinary Care

United Veterinary Care is seeking a Technical Business Applications Administrator that will be responsible for the administration, configuration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the company's business applications ecosystem. This role serves as a key technical resource supporting SaaS platforms, system integrations, workflows, data movement, reporting, permissions, and vendor-managed capabilities that enable critical business operations.

As United Veterinary Care continues to grow, the scope of this position extends beyond administration of a single platform to supporting multiple interconnected business systems. Current applications may include Coupa, Navan, Freshservice, and Dayforce-related integrations, with future responsibilities evolving as new technologies are implemented. As the ideal candidate, you possess a strong system mindset and enjoy solving complex business and technical challenges. While this is not a software development role and does not require extensive coding experience, success in this position requires comfort working with APIs, integrations, workflow automation, structured data, file transfers, data mapping, user access controls, and vendor technical support teams.

Reporting to the VP of Information Technology while working remotely, you will navigate administrative tasks within assigned SaaS systems while also understanding how those systems connect to broader business processes. This includes identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and making systems more reliable, scalable, and supportable.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical administrator and support resource for assigned SaaS business applications, including but not limited to procurement, travel, ITSM, HRIS-related integrations, finance, operations, and other business platforms as assigned.
  • Perform system administration tasks, including configuration updates, user and role administration, workflow adjustments, approval routing, service catalog updates, supplier/catalog updates, reporting, and vendor-supported system changes.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, workflow failures, integration errors, data discrepancies, user access issues, and vendor-supported configuration problems.
  • Support platform releases, upgrades, testing, UAT, configuration changes, and new feature evaluations.
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations between SaaS business systems, vendors, middleware platforms, reporting tools, and internal business processes.
  • Assist with data imports, exports, validation, reconciliation, scheduled file delivery, and downstream reporting feeds, including feeds to Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Configure and maintain workflows, automations, approval logic, routing rules, notifications, service catalogs, business rules, access roles, and other administrative settings across assigned SaaS platforms.
  • Support assigned platform-specific technical functions, which may include procurement punchouts, hosted catalogs, supplier enablement, travel/expense policy configuration, ITSM workflows, HRIS-related data feeds, reporting feeds, approval chains, and transaction flow issues.
  • Support policy configuration, workflow logic, ticket routing, service catalog configuration, reporting feeds, plug-ins, connectors, and vendor escalations.
  • Partner with business teams and vendors to evaluate, test, implement, and troubleshoot system changes, integrations, workflows, and new platform capabilities.
  • Work with IT Risk & Compliance and business data owners to support secure configurations, appropriate access controls, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience administering enterprise SaaS applications or supporting technical business systems.
  • Experience supporting business applications in areas such as procurement, travel, IT service management, HRIS, finance, operations, or similar functions.
  • Experience in healthcare, veterinary, retail, multi-location, or other distributed operating environments.
  • Working knowledge of SaaS administration, workflow configuration, role-based security, approval routing, reporting, and vendor-supported system administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting application issues, integrations, workflows, permissions, reporting feeds, and data movement across multiple systems.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations, workflows, reporting solutions, or integration requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with platforms such as Coupa, Navan, Freshservice, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Dayforce, or similar enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integration concepts, cXML, punchouts, SFTP, file-based integrations, structured data, and system-to-system data flows.
  • Experience supporting workflow automation, SaaS platform configuration, vendor management, and system implementations.
  • Experience supporting data integrations or reporting feeds into Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Demonstrate technical curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.
